Abstract:
This invention proposes a method for assigning resources in the downlink based on the CQI parameter reported by the UE compatible with the LTE standard. The method looks for saving signalling resources when conditions are such that no major advantage can be obtained from frequency selective scheduling. The method is divided into two processes, a non real time process used to determine whether the conditions for its application are present; and the new assignment procedure. For the latter, the method defines different assignment procedures based on whether the CQI value reported by the UE is higher or not of a given threshold whose calculation is also defined. A new parameter, the MAB, is defined for the assignment in case of CQI higher than the threshold, while frequency distributed scheduling is used if it is lower. The proposed method is believed to improve the LTE spectral efficiency with reduced complexity.

The distribution network comprising a plurality of caching nodes and wherein the web content had been statically identified as an uncacheable content and originated on an origin-server and wherein the method establishes a time to live, TTL, period value to said uncacheable content based on users requests and responds to said users requests by sending to at least to one CDN user said uncacheable content within said TTL period value. Each one of said plurality of caching nodes in said distribution network including a content caching manager and a pseudo-dynamic content TTL predictor and performing the following steps: a) contacting each one of said plurality of nodes with a centralized repository, in order to download the configuration file of a plurality of said CDN users. b) identifying, said content caching manager of each caching node, the uncacheable content as a pseudo-dynamic content; c) predicting, a pseudo-dynamic content TTL predictor of said caching node, said TTL period value in which the uncacheable content will not be modified; and d) caching, each one of said plurality of nodes, the uncacheable content during said predicted TTL period value. The system of the invention is arranged to implement the method of the invention.

Said local part comprises a plurality of DSLAM line cards with xDSL over fiber transceiver that, in turn, comprise a plurality of xDSL lines comprising a modified analog front end which comprises an digital-analog converter to transform a transmitted digital downstream signal into an analog downstream signal; an oscillator which fixes an oscillation frequency for the xDSL line; a mixer, directly connected to the output to convert the analog downstream signal into the oscillation frequency; and a band pass filter centered at the oscillation frequency which filters the converted analog downstream signal. And in upstream direction: a band pass filter centered at the oscillation frequency which filters an analog upstream signal; an oscillator which fixes an oscillation frequency for the xDSL line; a mixer, directly connected to the output of the band pass filter to convert the analog downstream signal into the original frequency; a low pass filter to avoid aliasing; an analog front end which comprises an analog-digital converter to transform the converted analog upstream signal into a digital upstream signal.
Abstract:
A method to optimize almost blank subframe usage in a wireless network including generating, an interfering base station, in order to minimize interference caused to a serving base station, an almost blank subframe pattern and sending the latter to the serving base station. The serving base station generating a set of preferred almost blank subframes, from said received almost blank subframe pattern, that their knows will be of use for providing a wireless connectivity to a user terminal, and sending the preferred almost blank subframes ordered by a priority of usage to said interfering base station. And the interfering base station, using, in the case of requiring the use of additional subframes for serving its own user terminals, the almost blank subframes indicated as low priority in said received set of preferred almost blank subframes from the serving base station.
