Abstract:
A floor surface is described which involves a plurality of planks joined together using a 2-part adhesive system. Pre-applied adhesives on one or more floor panels are further described as well as methods of installing the floor panels to form a floor surface.
Abstract:
The invention relates to panels (1,2) comprising laterally mounted locking elements, by means of which two of the panels (1, 2) can be inter-connected laterally in a positive fit, without the use of adhesive. The locking elements (5, 6, 7, 9) are designed in such a way that they can adopt an initial position, in which the panels are interlocked at least in one direction in a positive fit and a certain amount of play occurs in the common joint (4) of the two panels (1,2) and a final position, in which there is no play in the common joint (4) and the panels are interconnected without the use of adhesive. In order to interlock two boards (1,2), two boards are brought into an initial position in which the boards are interlocked by positive fit in at least one direction vertical relative to the connecting joint, where, at the connecting joint, play is present in a vertical direction relative to the connecting joint. The boards are then shifted in a parallel direction relative to the connecting joint (4) until a final position is reached in which there is no more play in a vertical direction relative to the connecting joint. The connection without the use of adhesives works reliably even when there are relatively large inaccuracies in production or when in case of warping.
Abstract:
In an arrangement for jointing together adjacent pieces of floor covering material, mutually facing edge portions of the pieces in a joint are profiled such that the one piece has a groove-shaped accommodation space in which a corresponding bead-shaped projection on the other piece may be accommodated. The one piece has a flocking which is disposed for holding together adjacent pieces. The profiling has, besides the accommodation space and the projection, mutually facing surfaces on both pieces, at least one of these surfaces being flocked. The flocking or flockings are located outside the defining surfaces of the accommodation space and the projection.
Abstract:
A base element (14), such as plywood, has a stainless steel plate (10) bonded to its upper surface with an overhang (15) allowing for application of a strip (20) of a sealing material therebelow to form a cavity sealed butt joint between tiles when they are laid side by side, usually as a floor surface. The base element (14) has tongues (17) and grooves (18) in respective edges to permit interengagement as expansion joints. A deformable, foamed plastics layer (22) may be bonded to the underside of the base (14) to allow for uneven substrate.
Abstract:
A complex laminated bamboo board includes an upper layer and a plurality of lower layers glued to the upper one. The upper layer consists of parallel strips and a pair of ribs alongside them. The ribs extend downward from a level not higher than a top face but not lower than a bottom face of the upper layer to below the bottom face. The lower layers are glued to the upper layer beneath the bottom face and at sides of the ribs. In addition, the strips and ribs of the upper layer are made of a first woody material but the lower layers are made of a second woody material different from the first woody material.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a subfloor which is provided between a hard base (11) and a floor such as a laminate or parquet floor resting on the latter, whereby this subfloor is composed of laterally connecting mats (9, 10) having a core (1) made of a synthetic foam provided with an underlay (2) and a top layer (3) made of a synthetic foil, whereby this underlay (2) and top layer (3) represent a flap (4, 5) which extends over the side edge of said core (1), so that this flap (4, 5) overlaps with the mat (9, 10) connecting onto this side edge.
Abstract:
Methods for attaching solid plank hardwood floor boards to a concrete floor surface with no wood layer between the boards and the concrete floor surfaces yield floors including a concrete floor surface with such floor boards adhesively attached and with no wood layer between the boards and the concrete floor surface.
Abstract:
A building panel, such as a flooring panel or wall panel and a method of assembling the same into a floor, wall cladding, etc. The panel is provided with a locking means in the form of groove (6) and tongue (7) forming a tongue/groove joint for assembling of the panels. In a preferred embodiment, the groove (6) and the tongue (7) are made of water resistant material and formed with a snap-together joint.
Abstract:
Novel adhesive materials and methods of using the same that are highly effective at securing flooring materials. The adhesive materials are used to secure flooring materials together. Additionally, the present invention is directed to methods of securing floor materials using the adhesive materials of the present invention. The present invention uses a adhesive material that is microencapsulated and then applied to the edge of the flooring material as part of dried medium. When the individual pieces of flooring material are placed into position, the microcapsules rupture, thereby releasing the adhesive. The adhesive then secures the edges of each individual piece to one another. Additionally, means may be used to aid in the rupture of the microcapsules to ensure the desired attachment of the flooring materials.
Abstract:
Flooring panel or wall panel and a use thereof in a wet room. The panel is provided with locking elements in the form of groove (6) and tongue (7) forming a tongue/groove joint for assembling of the panels. The groove (6) and the tongue (7) are made of water tight material and formed with a snap-together joint.
