Abstract: The disclosure herein describes a system for providing distributed global server load balancing (GSLB) over resources across multiple data centers. The system includes a directory group comprising one or more directory nodes and a plurality of GSLB nodes registered to the directory group. A respective GSLB node is configured to provide GSLB services over a respective portion of the resources. A directory node includes a domain name system (DNS) query-receiving module configured to receive a DNS query from a client, a node-selecting module configured to select from the plurality of GSLB nodes a first GSLB node based at least on the DNS query, and a DNS query-responding module configured to respond to the DNS query to the client using an address of the selected first GSLB node, thereby facilitating the selected first GSLB node in performing GSLB while resolving the DNS query.

Abstract: A network device includes a packet processor device that determines that packets are to be transmitted via a group of network interfaces, and a load balancing network interface selector. The load balancing network interface selector selects network interfaces in the group via which to egress packets from the network device using a first hash function. In response to determining that a first network interface within the group has become inoperable, the load balancing network interface selector continues to use the first hash function to select network interfaces in the group via which to egress packets from the network device. In response to determining that the first network interface within the group has become inoperable and when the first network interface is selected for packets using the first hash function, the load balancing load balancing network interface selector reselects network interfaces in the group using a second hash function.

Abstract: The present application is directed towards systems and methods for managing ownership of one or more SSL sessions. A cluster of nodes intermediary between at least one client server may maintain a succession list for at least one session of a first client from the at least one client. The succession list may include a list of nodes within the cluster and an order of succession for the nodes to transfer ownership of the at least one session. A first node of the cluster may enter an operational state for managing one or more sessions between the at least one client and the at least one server. A second node of the cluster may initiate, based on the succession list and responsive to the first node entering the operational state, a transfer of ownership of the at least one session from the second node to the first node.

Abstract: A method that provides for the grouping under a same workload of both application instances in an application tier, and data sharing members in a data tier. This grouping enables a workload manager to make recommendations (to load balancer appliances) about how to distribute workload connections, e.g., based on metrics gathered from both the application and data tiers. In this approach, both applications and data sources are grouped into a workload grouping, and health, status and capacity information about both of these tiers (application and data) is then used to determine an overall distribution policy for the workload. These different tiers can reside on the same or different operating system environments.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer programs are presented for distributing network address translation (NAT) operations to a plurality of network devices on a network. One method includes an operation for identifying, by a controller that controls a network fabric, a plurality of switches in the network fabric, each switch having a module for NAT and being configured to forward packets received at the switch. The controller identifies hosts having at least one internal Internet Protocol (IP) address, and for each of the hosts, the controller selects one of the switches from the plurality of switches for performing the NAT for the host. Further, the controller configures the network fabric to cause the selected switch to perform the NAT for the host to enable the host to communicate with an external network. In case of switch failure, the system reallocates NAT loads to other switches for high availability.

Abstract: A new approach is proposed that contemplates systems and methods to support bulk authentication of a device associated with a user to all cloud-based services the device intends to access in one transaction instead of authenticating the device against each of the services individually. First, the device generates and transmits to one or more authentication service clusters an authentication request that includes its identification and authentication credentials in order to access to a plurality of services. Upon receiving the authentication request, the authentication service cluster(s) authenticate the device for all of the services to be accessed based on the information in the authentication request. Once the device is authenticated, the authentication service cluster(s) then retrieve entitlement information of the services to be accessed by the device, and identify the service clusters/nodes that the device will connect to for the services with the fastest response time.

Abstract: A system establishes virtual DNS servers that are supported by a DNS server. Target IP addresses are assigned for the virtual DNS servers. Network capable devices are uniquely assigned to the virtual DNS servers for domain name resolution. Each network capable device accesses the communication network through a corresponding network device associated with a corresponding source IP address. A client's service plan is assigned to a first network capable device used by the client. The service plan is implemented through a DNS request under a session established between the first network capable device and its assigned first virtual DNS server. The session is uniquely identified by a first source IP address of a first network device used by the first network capable device to access the communication network and a first target IP address of the first virtual DNS server.
