Abstract: A vehicular interior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror head adjustably attached at a mounting base configured to attach at an interior portion of a vehicle. A driver monitoring camera is accommodated by the mirror head so as to move in tandem with the mirror head when the mirror head is adjusted relative to the mounting base to adjust a driver's rearward view. A forward viewing camera is accommodated by the mounting base so as to have a forward field of view through the vehicle windshield. A processor is operable to process image data captured by the driver monitoring camera to determine (i) driver attentiveness, (ii) driver drowsiness and/or (iii) driver gaze direction. The processor adjusts processing of the image data captured by the driver monitoring camera to accommodate adjustment of the mirror head when the driver adjusts the mirror head to adjust his or her rearward view.

Abstract: A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror head adjustably disposed at a mounting structure. An electro-optic reflective element is attached at an attachment element that attaches at an electrically powered actuator disposed in the mirror head. The attachment element includes a protruding portion that is at least partially received at a notched region of the rear glass substrate when the reflective element is disposed at the attachment element. An outer surface of the protruding portion of the attachment element corresponds with the second perimeter edge of the rear glass substrate at the notched region of the rear glass substrate. With the electro-optic reflective element disposed at the mirror head, the outer surface of the protruding portion provides a curved transition from an outer surface of the mirror head toward the first surface of the front glass substrate.

Abstract: A door handle assembly for a vehicular door of a vehicle includes a base portion disposed at the vehicular door, a handle portion, and an ultraviolet (UV) radiation emitter. The handle portion includes a grasping portion configured for a user to grasp when operating the door handle assembly. The handle portion is movable relative to the base portion by a user grasping the grasping portion to actuate a latch mechanism for opening the vehicular door. The UV radiation emitter, when electrically powered, irradiates at least the grasping portion of the handle portion with UV radiation.

Abstract: A method of assembling a mirror head for a vehicular interior rearview mirror assembly includes providing a mirror casing, a mirror reflective element at the mirror casing, and a toggle mechanism, which includes a body portion and a toggle lever joined to the body portion. A lower pivot mount of the toggle mechanism is inserted into a lower receiving portion of the mirror casing and an upper pivot mount of the toggle mechanism is inserted into an upper receiving portion of the mirror casing. An outer surface of the body portion corresponds with adjacent outer surfaces of the mirror casing, and, when the toggle lever pivots relative to the lower receiving portion of the mirror casing, the mirror casing pivots relative to the body portion to flip the mirror head between a first orientation and a second orientation.

Abstract: A vehicular exterior lighting system includes a lighting module disposed at a side of a vehicle. The lighting module includes at least one light emitting diode. The lighting module is operable to emit light that is viewable by a person exterior the side of the vehicle who is viewing the side of the vehicle. The lighting module emits white light responsive to a signal from a remote device to provide ground illumination of a ground region at the side of the vehicle at which the lighting module is disposed, and the lighting module (i) emits a first color of light responsive to a door lock signal and (ii) emits a second color of light responsive to a door unlock signal. The first color of light is different than the second color of light.

Abstract: A vehicular video camera display system includes an interior rearview mirror assembly having a casing and an electro-optic reflective element, with a video display device disposed in the casing behind the electro-optic reflective element. With the interior rearview mirror assembly mounted at the interior cabin portion of the vehicle, a video display screen of the video display device is operable to display video images that are viewable through the electro-optic reflective element by a driver of the vehicle. A rearward-viewing video camera is disposed at a rear portion of the vehicle and views at least rearward of the vehicle. Control circuitry is disposed at the interior rearview mirror assembly. Image data captured by the rearward-viewing video camera is communicated from the rearward-viewing video camera via a twisted pair wire to the control circuitry disposed at the interior rearview mirror assembly.

Abstract: A vehicular vision system includes a camera disposed at a side of a vehicle so as to view at least sideward and forward of the vehicle including a forward blind zone ahead of the vehicle that is caused by a leading vehicle ahead of the equipped vehicle and in the same traffic lane along which the equipped vehicle is traveling. The camera captures image data. An electronic control unit (ECU) includes electronic circuitry and associated software, with the electronic circuitry including an image processor for processing image data captured by the camera. A display screen is disposed in the equipped vehicle and viewable by a driver of the vehicle. The display screen, responsive to processing by the image processor of image data captured by the camera, displays video images derived from image data captured by the camera to provide displayed images of the forward blind zone ahead of the vehicle.

Abstract: A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror reflector sub-assembly having a mirror reflective element, a mirror back plate, a heater pad, and a blind zone indication module that includes a plastic housing. When at least one light emitting diode of the blind zone indication module is electrically powered, light emitted by the light emitting diode exits the blind zone indication module via a light-transmitting portion of a front end of the plastic housing. With the blind zone indication module disposed at the mirror reflective element, and with the light-transmitting portion of the front end of the plastic housing juxtaposed with a light-transmitting aperture of the mirror back plate, light emitted by the light emitting diode passes through the mirror reflective element and illuminates an icon of the mirror reflective element that is viewable by a driver of a vehicle equipped with the mirror assembly.

Abstract: A vehicular interior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror casing and a reflective element, with the mirror casing adjustably supported at a mirror mount at an interior surface of the vehicle. Abstract: A multifunctional rear camera system includes a rear camera and a processor. Responsive to processing of captured image data, the processor generates respective outputs for (i) a rear backup assist function, (ii) a mirror dimming control for at least an electro-optic interior rearview mirror assembly of the vehicle and (iii) ambient light detection. The processor processes a mirror zone of captured image data for mirror dimming control and processes upper corner regions of captured image data for ambient light detection. The processor processes at least lower regions of captured image data for the rear backup assist function. The generated output for the mirror dimming control is provided to the electro-optic interior rearview mirror assembly to control dimming of the electro-optic reflective element. The generated output for the rear backup assist function provides (i) object detection and/or (ii) video display of video images derived from captured image data.
