Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may transmit via a primary uplink carrier data, pilot and control channels for uplink transmissions on both uplink carriers, and transmit a data channel and a pilot channel via a secondary uplink carrier. Alternatively, the WTRU may transmit via a primary uplink carrier data, pilot, and control channels for uplink transmission on the primary uplink carrier, and transmit via a secondary uplink carrier data, pilot, and control channels for uplink transmissions on the secondary uplink carrier. Each uplink carrier may be associated with at least one specific downlink carrier such that the WTRU applies control information received on a downlink carrier to uplink transmissions on an uplink carrier associated with the downlink carrier on which the WTRU receives the control information.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for a WTRU to act as a mobile relay, the method comprising the WTRU connecting to the network, the WTRU receiving a message from the network indicating that the WTRU is to act as a mobile relay for one or more devices outside of the coverage of the network, the WTRU discovering one or more devices outside of the coverage of the network, and the WTRU receiving a message from the out-of-coverage device that indicates that the out-of-coverage device has selected the WTRU to act as a mobile relay.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed to determine access control and channel and signaling priority. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may comprise a processor configured, at least in part, to determine device-to-device (D2D) data to be transmitted. The WTRU may determine if the D2D data may be transmitted. The WTRU may determine available scheduling assignment (SA) resources used for priority based D2D data signals. The WTRU may select one or more available SA resources used for priority based D2D data signals. The WTRU may transmit the D2D data, wherein the D2D data may be transmitted on the selected SA resources.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for performing device-to-device (D2D) discovery are described. A service discovery process may include a discoverable device (e.g., a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU)) sending a discovery request, over a wireless connection, for a radio resource for the purpose of performing a transmission for radio frequency (RF) proximity detection for a given service. The WTRU may receive a discovery response including a configuration for RF proximity detection from a network, which configuration may be associated to the service. The configuration for RF proximity may be received by dedicated signaling, (e.g., physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH)), in particular for a discoverable WTRU. The configuration for RF proximity may be received on a broadcast channel, (e.g., a discovery shared channel (DISCH)), in particular for a monitoring WTRU, and may include one or more service identities, each associated with an RF proximity detection configuration, or a validity information and a measurement configuration.

Abstract: A wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) may perform provide a report to a network. The WTRU may include a processor that is configured to receive a measurement configuration from the network, where the measurement configuration indicates a threshold and a resource pool on which to perform measurements. The resources pool may be used for communication between one or more mobile device. The processor may be configured to perform measurements on the resource pool and determine whether an energy level for the resource pool is above the threshold for a duration of time. The processor may also be configured to send a report to the network indicating that the energy level for the resource pool is above the threshold for the predetermined duration of time.

Abstract: A method performed by a WTRU may comprise receiving a beamformed physical control channel using a first beamformed pilot signal. The beamformed physical control channel may include an indication of a beam for a physical shared channel. The indicated beam of the physical shared channel and a beam of the beamformed physical control channel may be different. The method may further comprise receiving, based on the indicated beam, the physical shared channel using a second beamformed pilot signal. In an embodiment, the WTRU may receive an RRC message including an indication of a code of the first beamformed pilot signal.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for wireless transmission using multiple uplink carriers are disclosed. Each uplink carrier may be associated with at least one specific downlink carrier such that the WTRU applies control information received on a downlink carrier to uplink transmissions on an uplink carrier associated with the downlink carrier on which the WTRU receives the control information.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus utilize hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) transmissions and retransmissions that are usable on multiple carriers, i.e. joint HARQ processes. For example, a downlink (DL) shared channel transmission of a joint HARQ process is received on one of the carriers. A first part of an identity of the joint HARQ process is determined by using HARQ process identity data received on a shared control channel. A second part of the joint HARQ process identity is determined using additional information. The joint HARQ process identity is then determined by combining the first part and the second part. A WTRU is provided that is configured to receive the DL shared channel and to make the aforementioned determinations. A variety of other methods and apparatus configurations are disclosed for utilizing joint HARQ processes, in particular in the context of DC-HSDPA.

The indication in the scheduling assignment indicates at least one of the set of time patterns to use. The processor and the transmitter are configured to transmit based on the received indication.
