    Abstract: A system described herein may maintain information indicating groups of wireless trip devices. The system may maintain information associating each wireless trip device, of a plurality of wireless trip devices, with respective edge computing devices. The system may receive a wireless alert from a particular wireless trip device, which indicates an electrical fault condition. The system may identify a particular group of wireless trip devices with which the wireless alert is associated, and may identify a particular set of edge computing devices that are associated with respective wireless trip devices of the group of wireless trip devices. The system may output, to each edge computing device of the identified particular set of edge computing devices, a notification based on the wireless alert, and each edge computing device may wirelessly communicate respective wireless trip devices based on the wireless alert received from the particular wireless trip device.

    Abstract: Systems and methods described herein provide new parameters for RAN configurations to manage network slices. A network device stores definitions for multiple mode parameters for a central unit (CU) of a radio access network (RAN), wherein each mode parameter defines a section of the CU that provides a relative performance level for a slice subnet over the RAN. The network device receives a slice configuration request for a network slice that identifies one of the multiple mode parameters and instantiates the network slice to operate over the section of the CU that is associated with the identified one of the multiple mode parameters. Additionally, a slice anti-affinity (SA) parameter is provided to selectively isolate network slices and improve slice reliability within the RAN.

    Abstract: A system described herein may provide a technique for the rate-controlled forwarding of traffic to a base station of a radio access network (“RAN”). The rate of the forwarding of the traffic may be based on a latency sensitivity of the traffic, metrics associated with the base station, and an ingress capacity of the base station. The metrics associated with the base station may include congestion and/or load metrics, radio frequency (“RF”) metrics, or other suitable metrics. The latency sensitivity of the traffic may be determined based on a source and/or destination of the traffic, a network slice associated with the traffic, or other suitable traffic attributes. After receiving the rate-controlled traffic, the base station may perform scheduling and/or queueing of the traffic in order to wirelessly provide the traffic to one or more User Equipment (“UEs”).
