Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods, devices, and systems for the bonding of attachments for use with dental appliances. For instance, an attachment template tray system may include a template body and a light source tray. Electronic circuitry of the light source tray may be configured to activate, based on a signal from a sensor assembly, radiation source(s) of the light source tray when the light source tray is within a threshold distance of the template body. The template body may include an orthodontic attachment with a release layer covering an engagement surface. Radiation sources of the light source tray may be configured to emit a first range of wavelengths of light for curing a light curable adhesive coating on the orthodontic attachment and a second range of wavelengths of light for degrading the release layer.

Abstract: A method and system are provided for manufacturing a physical dental model. A virtual model is provided representative of at least a portion of the intra-oral cavity including at least one dental implant implanted therein, and the virtual model includes a virtual portion representative of each dental implant. The virtual spatial disposition of each such virtual portion is determined with respect to the virtual model, corresponding to a real spatial disposition of the respective implant with respect to the intra oral cavity. A physical model is then manufactured based on the virtual model, the physical model including a physical analog corresponding to each implant at a respective physical spatial disposition with respect to the physical model corresponding to the respective virtual spatial disposition of the respective virtual portion with respect to the first virtual model as already determined. In some embodiments, a jig is provided configured for maintaining a desired physical spatial disposition between the physical analog and a cavity of the physical dental model at least until the physical analog is affixed in the cavity.

Abstract: Embodiments include receiving intraoral scan data comprising a plurality of intraoral images of a dental site generated during scanning of the dental site by an intraoral scanner, a plurality of ink markings each comprising a pattern of ink having been temporarily stamped or tattooed onto a gingival surface at the dental site prior to the scanning of the dental site, wherein at least two intraoral images of the plurality of intraoral images comprise representations of one or more ink markings of the plurality of ink markings. Embodiments further include performing registration between the plurality of intraoral images based at least in part on the one or more ink markings, generating a three-dimensional (3D) model of the dental site using the plurality of intraoral images that have undergone registration, and outputting the generated 3D model to a display.

Abstract: A system comprises an intraoral scanner and one or more computing devices. The one or more computing devices are configured to: receive a plurality of intraoral scans of the dental arch; determine that an intraoral scan comprises a depiction of a first 3D surface and a depiction of at least a feature of a second 3D surface that is separated from the first 3D surface by at least one intervening 3D surface not shown in the at least one intraoral scan; stitch together the plurality of intraoral scans; and generate a virtual 3D model of the dental arch from the plurality of intraoral scans, wherein a distance between the first 3D surface and the second 3D surface in the virtual 3D model is based on the distance between first 3D surface and the feature of the second 3D surface in the at least one intraoral scan.

Abstract: Systems and methods for fabricating dental appliances are provided. In some embodiments, a method includes determining an appliance geometry for a dental appliance, where the appliance geometry includes a first region representing a first shell portion having a first set of cavities configured to receive one or more first teeth at a first side of a dental arch of a patient, a second region representing a second shell portion having a second set of cavities configured to receive one or more second teeth at a second side of the dental arch, and a third region representing an integrally formed arch expander configured to exert forces to increase a width of the dental arch. The method can also include generating instructions for fabricating the dental appliance having the appliance geometry via an additive manufacturing process, and using the instructions to instruct a fabrication system to fabricate the dental appliance.

Abstract: A system comprises a dental tray comprising an array of cameras, wherein each camera of the first array of cameras has a fixed position and orientation relative to one or more other camera of the array of cameras, the array of cameras configured to generate a plurality of images comprising image data of at least a portion of the dental arch. The system further comprises a processing device to receive a plurality of images generated by the array of cameras, stitch the plurality of images together based on calibration data specifying predetermined image stitching parameters for combining the plurality of images, wherein the predetermined image stitching parameters are based on predetermined fixed relative positions and orientations of cameras from the array of cameras, and generate a three-dimensional model of a plurality of teeth based on the stitched plurality of images.
