The invention provides a planographic printing plate precursor that is writable by laser exposure and is composed of a support, a photosensitive recording layer formed on the support, and a backcoat layer containing an epoxy resin, the backcoat layer being formed on the side of the support opposite to the photosensitive recording layer side; and a stack of the planographic printing plate precursors. According to the invention, scratches on the photosensitive recording side of the planographic printing plate precursor can be prevented when brought into contact with another planographic printing plate precursor in the stack without interleaving slip sheets, and productivity in a plate making process can be improved.

A method for preparing a lithographic printing plate includes: imagewise exposing a lithographic printing plate precursor including a photosensitive layer containing a sensitizing dye, a polymerization initiator, a polymerizable compound and a binder polymer and an aluminum support on which a divalent cation is adsorbed in an amount of from 0.5 to 3.0 mg/m2 prepared by treating the aluminum support with an aqueous polyvinylphosphonic acid solution and washing the treated aluminum support with an aqueous solution containing the divalent cation; and subjecting the exposed lithographic printing plate precursor to a monobath development processing with a developer.

A plate-making method of a lithographic printing plate precursor including an image forming layer and a support, includes: (a) a step of preparing a lithographic printing plate precursor containing, in the image forming layer, an infrared absorber, a polymerization initiator, a polymerizable compound, a hydrophobic binder polymer and a compound represented by the formula (1) or (2) as defined herein; (b) a step of imagewise exposing the lithographic printing plate precursor; and (C) a step of developing the exposed lithographic printing plate precursor with an aqueous solution containing at least one water-soluble polymer selected from the group consisting of gum arabic and starch with an automatic processor equipped with a rubbing member.

An object of the present invention is to provide a planographic printing plate material as well as a printing method in which excellent properties of on-press development, exposure image visualization, scratch resistance, background contamination resistance, and printing durability are exhibited. Disclosed is a planographic printing plate material possessing a hydrophilic layer and an image formation layer provided on a plastic support, wherein the image formation layer contains polyolefin wax having a melting point of 105-120° C. and a melt viscosity of 1-1200 mPa·s, the hydrophilic layer contains spherical silica particles having a particle diameter of 5.0-7.0 μm, and a content ratio of the spherical silica particles having a particle diameter of 5.0-7.0 μm is not less than 60% by volume, based on a total volume of particles having a particle diameter of 2-10 μm contained in the hydrophilic layer.
