Abstract:
A trolley roller assembly for use with a conveyor system and including a roller for rolling engagement with a track of the conveyor system and having a central bore, a trolley hanger, a pin member having a shaft portion passing through an aperture in the hanger and positioned in the roller bore, and a bearing interposed between the pin shaft portion and the roller. The pin member further includes an enlarged head portion positioned in the roller bore and forming an annular shoulder with the pin member shaft portion and the bearing comprises an outer race, a plurality of balls relatively mounted in the outer race, and an inner race formed in part by the pin member head portion and in part by a collar surrounding the pin member shaft portion and positioned against the annular shoulder of the pin member. The inner race is formed in part by an arcuate annular groove in the pin member head portion and in part by a complementary annular arcuate groove in the collar. Each arcuate groove defines approximately one half of the inner race and the annular arcuate grooves in the head portion and in the collar coact to define an included angle of at least 100.degree..
Abstract:
A tandem belt conveyor system comprising an endless primary conveyor belt, an endless support conveyor belt and a synchronous drive for synchronously driving the primary and support conveyor belts. The primary conveyor belt is a flat wire belt having a carrier flight for transport of articles and a return flight. The support conveyor belt has a support flight for supporting the carrier flight of the primary conveyor belt, and a return flight. The support conveyor belt includes a pair of chains interconnected by transverse cross bars for supporting the primary conveyor belt. The synchronous drive includes an AC motor for driving one of the belts, a DC motor for driving the other belt, and a DC motor controller for controlling the AC and DC motors in master-slave relationship to synchronize the speeds of the belts. The tandem belt conveyor system of the invention avoids the production of metal fines in heating or cooling chambers through which articles such as cans are passed by the conveyor system for curing or other processing of coatings thereon.
Abstract:
An overhead system for sorting clothing items held by hooks, having a closed circuit conveyor belt with openings which carries the single items to the final station. The items--loaded randomly and in large quantities on the system--are transported to this belt one at a time, after having been separated from the others and identified electronically within specific operating stations installed before the conveyor belt. A first operating station has a pair of rods which slide vertically and select a single item to advance onto the conveyor belt. An optical reader is at a second operating station to identify each item. A series of extracting units are installed along the belt to unload the item form the belt.
Abstract:
The storage arrangement for operation in an autoclave with horizontal cylinder (60) includes a conveyor chain (10), which is moved on both sides back and forth over guide sprocket wheels. Shelves (1) are conveyed with the conveyor chain (10). The parallel guidance of these shelves (1) is effected by means of parallel guide wheels (16), which run synchronously with the guide sprocket wheels (12). The guide sprocket wheels (12) are connected with idler gears (15), so that, as a whole, they present a rigid drive structure. With this kind of storage arrangement, a cylindrical autoclave can be densely packed, and it is easy to carry out heating by means of steam and cooling through spraying.
Abstract:
A movable, adjustable carrier assembly suitable for transporting a tire through a tire retreading plant along a conveyor track at different heights. The adjustable carrier assembly includes a main bar and a support bar. The support bar self-lockingly engages one of a plurality of notches or slots in the main bar. By reason of the multiplicity of notches, the height of the support bar, and accordingly the height of the tire it is transporting, can be adjusted, thus permitting a tire to be transported throughout a tire retreading plant on a single adjustable carrier, the height of the tire being adjusted as needed at the various operational stations. Also, the same adjustable carrier can be adjusted to accommodate tires of different sizes.
Abstract:
A conveyor chain is formed from a plurality of molded plastic chain links assembled in brick-laid fashion. The molded plastic chain links each include an intermediate structure connecting a first plurality of link ends to a second plurality of link ends, the intermediate structure including notches provided for facilitating breaking of the molded plastic chain link at selected locations along the length of the chain link and such that the molded plastic chain link is broken along a line extending in the direction of the chain pitch at each such selected location.
Abstract:
Off-loading conveyors having endless roller chains to which are mounted bow tie rollers on rods extending laterally from the chain. The bow tie rollers define concavities for receipt of product units to be conveyed and off-loaded at an appropriate station. Off-loading elements are mounted to the chains which include paddles extending to between the bow tie rollers. The off-loading elements include levers which cooperate with an actuation system to pivot the paddles through the concavities to remove product at appropriate stations.

Abstract:
Wire stock for connecting rods is run through the nip of a pair of obliquely toothed rolls having teeth which taper from one face of the roll towards the other, and have a larger radius at the tip than along the portions flanking the tip. The angle of obliqueness matches the angle that a turn of a spiral wire will traverse the connecting rod. Round wire stock for the single-faceted spiral wires is run through the nip of a pair of rolls one of which has a cylindrical surface (i.e., a flat longitudinal profile), and the other of which has a circumferential groove with a slightly larger diameter than the round wire stock. As the wire is flattened on one side, its curved side is broadened. As the resultingly single-faceted round wire is wound into flattened spiral form, it is spatially orientationally guided, so that the facet becomes located facing outwards. The rods and flat spirals are conventionally assembled with one another and secured to one another at respective ends, to provide a balanced flat spiral woven wire conveyor belt with rounds of turns nested in concave oblique crimp notches on the connecting rods.
Abstract:
An arrangement for loading of a cargo compartment (3), in particular that of an aircraft fuselage (1), with piece goods, is proposed, consisting of a conveying device (9) in the form of a number of high-tensile belts (10) located at intervals from one another and which are provided with a carpet-like conveying surface (18), for instance in nylon fabric, in that section of them which covers the cargo area of the cargo compartment (3) in the fully-loaded position. A rear cargo wall (23) fixed to the belts (10) provides the rear storage room limit for the goods transported. Loading and unloading can be performed by means of movement backwards and forwards of the belts (10). Since tensile loadings are concentrated exclusively in the belts (10), reversal can be performed in the vicinity of the loading aperture (5) of the cargo compartment (3) on a thin guide section located near the floor, which can be designed to accord with any contour of the floor (14) of the cargo compartment (3). There thus results a design for the conveying device (9) in the form of a carpet which fluidly adapts itself to any contour on which the goods transported can be safely and reliably conveyed into and out of the cargo compartment (3).
