Abstract:
The present invention includes a first positioning assembly and a second positioning assembly respectively mounted on the bottom housing of the scanner. The first positioning assembly defines a first clamping groove, and the second positioning assembly defines a second clamping groove. A toothed belt is used to drive the chassis of the scanner to move reciprocally. The toothed belt includes a first end and a second end respectively locked in the first clamping groove of the first positioning assembly and the second clamping groove of the second positioning assembly. The toothed belt can be mounted directly, without having to additionally perform a working process, thereby reducing the machining processes, and thereby decreasing the cost of fabrication.
Abstract:
A document passage in an image reading device, which is defined between an upper frame having means for transporting a given document and a base frame having a document setting surface and means for optically reading an image on the given document, is open at its one side by supporting the upper frame above the base frame in a cantilever state, so that the document of any size such as a name card and envelope can be dealt with to be subjected to image processing regardless of the size of the document. The document transporting means brings about a laterally urging force to be imparted to the document being forwarded on the document setting surface, so that the document can be stably forwarded without causing wobbling widthwise, thus effecting automatic document feeding and image reading with a high accuracy.
Abstract:
An improved flatbed scanner comprises a frame transparent scanner and a cradle having a lid. The frame transparent scanner is a stand-alone portable scanner that can scan both transparent and opaque scanning objects. When the frame transparent scanner is rested in the cradle, a flatbed scanner, appearing as a regular flatbed scanner, is structured. The operations are no different from that of the regular flatbed scanner. One of the advantages and benefits of the disclosed flatbed scanner is that a user no longer has to have two scanners, typically one for mobile applications and one for stationary applications. With the current disclosed flatbed scanner, the user can take the frame transparent scanner off the cradle for the mobile applications and rest the frame transparent scanner in the cradle for office uses.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a photoconductor, a light source that emits a light beam, and a scanning device that guides a light beam emitted from the light source onto a surface of the photoconductor so as to scan the surface of the photoconductor with the light beam to form a latent image thereupon. A housing, to which the light source and the scanning device are mounted, is mounted to a main body of the apparatus by a stay. The housing is supported by the stay such that an angle of a scanning direction of the light beam relative to a direction in which a surface of the photoconductor moves is adjustable so as to be at a substantially right angle and thereby an image is formed in a rectangular form by way of rotating the housing.
Abstract:
A mirror frame for an image forming apparatus has first and second mirror holders for holding a reflection mirror at two different locations and angular orientations. The reflection mirror is installed in either the first or second holder, depending on the type of condenser lens unit used in the device, so that a light beam used to read a document is accurately focused on a light receiving device. The apparatus may also include a V-shaped condenser lens unit mounting frame that allows different sized condenser lens units to be used on the same frame.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a housing comprising a rectangular transparent planar board for placing documents to be scanned and a rectangular case for placing a scanning module. The housing comprises a plurality of clasps for fixing the transparent planar board within a flatbed scanner and comprises front, rear, left and right ends. The case comprises four upright sides and a rectangular opening installed above the four upright sides for mounting the transparent planar board. The opening comprises front, rear, left and right sides. The left and right sides of the opening each comprises an L-shaped groove for mounting the left and right ends of the transparent planar board, respectively. The front and rear sides of the opening each comprises a clasp for mounting the front and rear ends of the transparent planar board. The clasp at the middle portion of the rear side is installed such that when the front end of the transparent planar board is fastened into the clasp installed at the front side of the opening, the middle portion of the rear end of the transparent planar board can be fastened into the clasp installed at the rear side of the opening by temporarily displacing the clasp laterally as the transparent planar board is placed.
Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to securing a sheet medium onto a support surface and, more particularly, to a print drum for supporting a flexible film sheet medium on a relieved support surface so as to desensitize to medium to the effects of debris contamination and air turbulence for allowing the sheet to be imprinted with consistent resolution.
Abstract:
An automatic paper feeder of a document input device includes a pick roller 20, separator pads 68 that come into contact with the pick roller 20, a first pair of pick springs 58, and a second pick spring 60. The first pick springs 58 are disposed on the upstream side of the second pick spring 60 in the direction of conveying the paper. The first pick springs 58 are disposed on the regions on both outer sides of the width of the separator pads 68 in the axial direction of the roller, and the second pick spring 60 is disposed at a central position in the width of the separator pad 68. The first and second pick springs 58 and 60 are integrally formed as a spring unit using a single metal plate, and a force of contact of the first pick springs 58 upon the pick roller 20 on the upstream side is smaller than a force of contact of the second pick spring 60 upon the pick roller 20 on the downstream side. The separator pad 68 is formed by branching a web 70 of a rubber sheet into fork-like pad units. The spring unit and the pad units are supported together by a bracket 76 and a holder member 78 (FIG. 6 ).
Abstract:
A portable copying machine has a thermal head printer for printing image information on a copy paper, a Charge Coupled Device for reading out the image information, and a time-limit device of which setting time is varied in response to the voltage of power source, whereby a copying shade of the copy paper is kept constant, even if the voltage of a power source is changed by controlling the strobe pulse of the thermal head printer by the time-limit device.
Abstract:
A noise-reducing platen comprising a circular cylinder, a hub disposed along the longitudinal axis of and within the cylinder, and walls for dividing the annular region between the cylinder and the hub into a plurality of separated longitudinal channels extending the length of the cylinder. The walls include a plurality of vanes disposed at angular intervals about the hub, each vane extending (a) from the hub to the inner surface of the cylinder and (b) along the length of the cylinder, each pair of adjacent vanes defining one of the longitudinal channels. It is believed that the vibrations generated along the longitudinal channels are at a frequency above the audible range, thereby resulting in reduced undesired noise when printing elements strike the platen.
