An apparatus and a method for providing music file search function. The apparatus includes an input unit that receives an input of an attribute of a music file to be played, an extract unit that extracts a characteristic segment from the music file according to the input attribute, a 3D-sound generating unit that generates 3D sound from the characteristic segment of the music file along a spatial axis corresponding to the attribute, and an output unit that outputs the 3D sound. The method includes the steps of inputting an attribute of a music file to be played, searching a characteristic segment of the music file according to the input attribute, generating 3D sound from the characteristic segment of the music file along a spatial-axis corresponding to the attribute, and outputting the 3D sound.

Provided are an apparatus and method for moving a list on a picture plane. The apparatus for moving a list on a picture plane includes a centripetal acceleration control module providing acceleration in the direction in which an image moves, with respect to an amount of movement of the center of the image relative to the center of a picture plane of a digital device, a movement resistance control module calculating a resistance corresponding to the provided acceleration, and applying the resistance to the image, a picture plane movement parameter control module calculating the movement speed of the image displayed on the picture plane and the distance moved by the center of the image, based on at least one of a current input tilt angle, the acceleration value, and the resistance value, thereby updating the movement speed and the distance moved by the center of the image.

An apparatus, method, and medium for retrieving a highlighted section of audio data using song lyrics. The apparatus, method and medium allow a user to quickly retrieve and recognize desired music by setting a highlighted section of audio data using song lyrics to an audio file and playing the highlighted section during retrieval of the audio file. The method includes extracting title information and lyric information from metadata related to an audio file, checking whether a character string containing title information and a repeated character string exist based on the extracted title information and lyric information, when a character string containing title information and a repeated character string are found, storing the found character strings as highlight candidates, selecting one of the stored highlight candidates as a highlighted character string, and setting a highlighted section containing the selected highlighted character string.
Abstract:
A method of navigating through audio files and an apparatus for playing back audio files using the method are provided. The apparatus for playing back audio files includes an input module which receives from a user a command to switch the apparatus to a navigation mode, a storage module which stores a plurality of audio files, each audio file comprising a highlight section, a control module which extracts the audio files from the storage module in response to the command received by the input module and plays back the highlight sections of the audio files while adjusting a volume level for each of the audio files, and an output module which outputs to the user the highlight sections of the audio files played back by the control module.

A function input method for providing in advance to a user information on a function to be executed when the user presses a button to execute a specific function in a portable terminal, such as a cellular phone, and a button input apparatus using the same. The method includes: receiving a button input when the user presses one of a plurality of buttons; determining whether a mode of the button input is a touch mode or a click mode; and displaying a preview image of a function corresponding to the pressed button if the button input mode is the touch mode and executing the function corresponding to the pressed button if the button input mode is the click mode.

A system and method to estimate a location of a speaker who produces a sound signal even in a non-stationary noise environment. The system includes a signal input module receiving a first sound signal from an outside; an initialization module preparing a sound map, on which a spatial spectrum for the first sound signal, produced from at least one fixed sound source and received by the signal input module, is arranged, and estimating a location of the fixed sound source; a storage module storing information about the estimated location of the fixed sound source; and a speaker's location estimation module estimating a location where a second sound signal is produced using information about the spatial spectrum for sound signals including the first sound signal received by the signal input module and the information about the estimated location of the fixed sound source.

An apparatus and method for estimating a three-dimensional (3D) position and orientation based on a sensor fusion process is provided. The method of estimating the 3D position and orientation may include estimating a strength-based position and a strength-based orientation of a remote apparatus when a plurality of strength information is received, based on an attenuation characteristic of a strength that varies based on a distance and orientation, estimating an inertia-based position and an inertia-based orientation of the remote apparatus by receiving a plurality of inertial information, and estimating a fused position based on a weighted-sum of the strength-based position and the inertia-based position, and to estimate a fused orientation based on a weighted-sum of the strength-based orientation and the inertia-based orientation. The strength-based position and the strength-based orientation may be estimated based on a plurality of adjusted strength information from which noise is removed using a plurality of previous strength information.

Provided is an imaging apparatus, method and computer-readable medium that photographs an object through at least one aperture of each of pixel of a display panel. The imaging apparatus includes a camera unit in back of the display panel and photographs the object through the at least one aperture of each of the pixels of the display panel to enable a location of the camera unit to be the same as a location of a display unit, measures a distance to the object using a blur effect occurring when photographing through the at least one aperture of the display panel, and restores an image where the blur effect is included.

The present invention relates to an apparatus and method of improving intelligibility of a voice signal. A method of improving intelligibility of a voice signal according to an embodiment of the present invention includes analyzing a background noise signal on a call receiving side, classifying a received voice signal into a silence signal, an unvoiced sound signal, and a voiced sound signal, and intensifying the classified unvoiced sound signal and voiced sound signal on the basis of the analyzed background noise signal on the call receiving side.

A multi-touch sensing apparatus using a rear view camera of an array type is provided. The multi-touch sensing apparatus may include a display panel to display an image, a sensing light source to emit light to sense a touch image which is generated by an object and displayed on a back side of the display panel, and a camera to divide and sense the touch image. The camera may be arranged in an edge of a lower side of the multi-touch sensing apparatus, or a mirror to reflect the touch image may be included in the multi-touch sensing apparatus.
