The plastic package is capable of containing and dispensing the low combustion product. The plastic package is stable when containing the product and together they have a fire hazard classification of 1 or 2. The low combustion aerosol product may be an anhydrous antiperspirant product.

Disclosed are gel deodorant compositions comprising (a) from about 0.001% to about 50% by weight of a deodorant active, fragrance, or combination thereof; (b) from about 0.01% to about 20% by weight of a gellant; (c) from about 5% to about 90% by weight of a polymeric alcohol having at least one free hydroxyl group and also having from about 2 to about 80 alkoxylate radicals wherein the alkoxylate radical contains from about 2 to about 6 carbon atoms; (d) from about 5% to about 89% by weight of a nonpolymeric alcohol having at least two free hydroxyl groups, and also having from about 4 to about 20 carbon atoms, wherein the weight ratio of the polymeric to nonpolymeric alcohol is from about 18:1 to about 1:5; (e) from zero percent to about 10% by weight of glycerin; and (f) from about 0.01% to about 89% by weight of water. Also disclosed is a method of controlling malodor associated with perspiration by topical application of any deodorant composition containing a select combination of triclosan and triclocarban. All of these compositions remain clear or translucent over extended periods of time, and provide little or no skin irritation in addition to improved cosmetic benefits such as dry feel, ease of application, emolliency, fragrance longevity, and no powdery residue.

Disclosed are anhydrous aerosol package compositions which comprise (a) a Lewis acid having a pKa of less than about 5.0; (b) from about 5% to about 95% by weight of a fluorinated hydrocarbon propellant; (c) a hydrogen bonded water source; and (d) a rust inhibition means. The aerosol package compositions are preferably anhydrous aerosol antiperspirants which comprise an antiperspirant active, a fluorinated hydrocarbon propellant such as 1,1-difluroethane, and a rust inhibition means, wherein the antiperspirant active acts as a Lewis acid and contains hydrogen bonded water. It was found that aerosol package compositions containing fluorinated hydrocarbons, a strong Lewis acid, and a hydrogen bonded water source are surprisingly susceptible to corrosion or rust formation of any metal surface within the package, unless a known or otherwise effective rust inhibition means is added to or used in association with the packaged aerosol composition.

Disclosed are anhydrous antiperspirant cream compositions that are substantially free of polymeric or inorganic thickening, and have improved product stability and spreading performance. These compositions have a rheology profile characterized by select product hardness (from about 75 gram force to about 500 gram force), delta stress (from about 300 dyne/cm.sup.2 to about 8,000 dyne/cm.sup.2) and static yield stress (at least about 1,000 dyne/cm.sup.2 ) values. The new rheology profile is preferably applied to antiperspirant cream compositions comprising from about 0.1% to about 20 % by weight of a crystalline gellant, from about 10% to about 80% by weight of an anhydrous liquid carrier for the crystalline gellant having a solubility parameter of from about 3 to about 13 and, from about 5 % to about 35% by weight of a particulate antiperspirant active. Also disclosed are methods of using and making the compositions, and packaged compositions having a shear force delivery means for applying the composition to the axilla or other area of the skin. The disclosed compositions are especially effective at minimizing or eliminating solvent syneresis during packaging, storage, transport or during extrusion through a perforated mesh cap or other shear force delivery means.
