Abstract:
Disclosed are methods and apparatus for hydrating ophthalmic lenses and leaching excess materials from the ophthalmic lenses. The methods include the steps of exposing contact lenses with a hydration solution comprising about 30 to 70 percent isopropyl alcohol and water. In some embodiments, the hydration solution is maintained at an elevated temperature. Exposure to a first hydration solution causes the ophthalmic lenses to swell to a size larger than their functional size, and exposure to a second ophthalmic solution causes the lenses to shrink back to a functional size.
Abstract:
An internal combustion engine comprises a cylinder head with at least one ignition device and one injection device per cylinder, at least one cooling jacket arranged in the cylinder head, with at least one cooling channel being arranged per cylinder between the ignition device and the injection device. In order to improve cooling in the region of the injection nozzles of the injection device it is provided that each cooling channel opens into a collecting channel arranged in the cylinder head.
Abstract:
A system, method and apparatus for performing a facial approximation is described. The system includes an acquisition subsystem and a facial approximation algorithm. The method includes the steps of acquiring models of known skulls and a model of a questioned skull, comparing the models of the known skulls with the model of the questioned skull, and removing variation in the facial structure of the questioned skull due to skeletal variation between the known skulls and the questioned skull. The apparatus includes a bony structure software component, a bony structure warping software component, and a soft tissue software component.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a multi-mode calibration target operable to calibrate multiple optical sensors. One embodiment has multiple planar surfaces, wherein the multiple planar surfaces are able to be distinguished by visual sensors based on their color, hue, shade, tint, or tone. Additionally, these planar surfaces may be raised or recessed from one another to provide depth contrast as well as visual contrast. Other embodiments may include narrow band emitters such as laser diodes located at predetermined locations within the multi-mode target. These targets may then be used to calibrate various sensors, such as optical sensors, within an inspection system such as a laser ultrasonic inspection system.
Abstract:
Method and system for uploading, managing and delivering digital content, including streaming media. The system according to one embodiment allows receives digital content from the client (102), assigns a stream identifier (ID) to the content and stores the content. The client is given a playlist uniform resource locator (URL) for publishing on its web site (610), the URL including the stream ID. Activation of the URL by an end user (104) causes the stream to be served to the end user, without the client receiving or providing an indication of the specifics of where the content was stored. An embodiment of the present provides a system and method that permit clients to actively manage their content, including defining logical folders and subfolders containing item(s) of the content and defining logical stream groups, containing items of the content.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to soft contact lenses having an overall comfort preference of at least about 2 to 1 as compared to an Acuvue® contact lens and measured after one week of daily wear. The present invention further relates to a soft contact lens comprising an oxygen transmissibility greater than about 70 barrers/mm and physical properties suitable to provide wearer comfort over at least about 9 hours in at least about 80% of wearers, as measured in a randomized, double masked clinical study.

Abstract:
A four-wheeled recreational vehicle in the form of a go-cart having an open body without doors or windows. The body is formed from interconnected tubular members to define a chassis and frame. The vehicle includes a front suspension having V-shaped, parallel upper and lower control members including forward and rear control arms. The forward control arms are substantially perpendicular to the chassis centerline and the rear control arms incline inwardly and rearwardly from the front wheels. Greater vertical front wheel travel is provided for improved ride comfort and stability over rough terrain. The accelerator and brake pedals are placed closer to the front wheel pivot axis for greater legroom.
