Abstract: A silicone back plate for a flexible display is disclosed herein. The silicone back plate is formed by a cured silicone product having from 70 to 95 of a Shore A hardness measured in accordance with ASTM D2240, and having at least 10 MPa of a tensile strength and at least 30% of an elongation measured in accordance with ASTM D412. The silicone back plate can provide the flexible display with reliability.

Abstract: An aqueous dispersion comprising a multistage polymer comprising a first polymer and a second polymer that comprises structural units of an ethylenically unsaturated siloxane monomer, the multistage polymer comprising, by weight based on the weight of the multistage polymer, 4.5% or more of structural units of the ethylenically unsaturated siloxane monomer, and the coagulum content of the aqueous dispersion is less than 2,000 ppm after filtration through a 44 micron sieve.

Abstract: A curable composition for preparing a low density cast silicone foam includes a first part and a second part. The first part includes particular amounts of an alkenyl-terminated polyorganosiloxane; an alkenyl-substituted copolyorganosiloxane; an alkenyl-substituted MQ polyorganosiloxane; a cure catalyst; an inorganic filler; and a chemical blowing agent. The second part includes a hydride-substituted polyorganosiloxane. The resulting silicone foams advantageously have a density of less than 240 kg/m3; and a closed cell content of at least 50%. Cured silicone foams and methods for the manufacture thereof are also described.

Abstract: A curable silicone composition is disclosed. The curable silicone composition comprises: (A) a silicone resin consisting essentially of R3SiO1/2 siloxane units and SiO4/2 siloxane units, wherein each R is the same or different, and independently selected from halogen-substituted or unsubstituted monovalent hydrocarbon groups free of aliphatic unsaturated bonds; (B) an organopolysiloxane having at least two alkenyl groups per molecule and free of SiO4/2 siloxane units in the organopolysiloxane; (C) an organosiloxane having at least three silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule; and (D) a hydrosilylation catalyst. The curable silicone composition can be cured to form a cured product having a high tensile strength in addition to a low modulus.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a low TVOC release silicone composite sheet, comprising: 1) a substrate layer selected from a fabric or a polymeric film. 2) a silicone adhesive layer coated onto the substrate layer and containing volatile organic compound (VOC) releasing additives, and 3) a reinforcing layer adjacent to the silicone adhesive layer; wherein the coating amount of the silicone adhesive layer is less than 45 wt %, preferably less than 35 wt %, more preferably less than 20 wt %, based on the total coating amount of the silicone adhesive layer and the reinforcing layer. and wherein both silicone adhesive layer and reinforcing layer contain or consist essentially of liquid silicone rubber (LSR) or room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber (RTV), and said reinforcing layer contains one or more coatings comprising A). organopolysiloxane having one or more silicon atom-bonded alkenyl groups on average in one molecule; B). an organohydrogenpolysiloxane; and C). a hydrosilylation reaction catalyst present in any amount effective to cure the composition. Furthermore, it relates also to a method for coating and for reducing TVOC release.

Abstract: An ultrahigh-strength SiO2 aerogel with alternately configured soft chains and hard cores, and a method for preparing same are provided. According to the present invention, firstly, octa-olefin functionalized silsesquioxane and a mercapto silane coupling agent are dissolved in an organic solvent under a protective gas to perform a catalytic reaction, and then the reaction system is dried to obtain a white powder; secondly, the white powder is dissolved in an alcohol solution, the mixture is stirred until the white powder is completely dissolved, and then an acid-catalyzed hydrolysis reaction and a heat-induced gelation reaction under an alkaline environment are performed to obtain a wet gel; and finally, the gel is subjected to aging, surface modification, displacement and vacuum lyophilization to obtain the ultrahigh-strength SiO2 aerogel with alternately configured soft chains and hard cores.

Abstract: An (A) additive organopolysiloxane composition is disclosed, which includes (A1) a branched organopolysiloxane polymer comprising M, D and Q siloxy units, (A2) a silicone resin, and (A3) a polydiorganosiloxane oligomer. A curable composition is also disclosed, the curable composition including the (A) additive organopolysiloxane composition, (B) an organosilicon compound having at least two silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule, and (C) a hydrosilylation catalyst. A method of preparing the curable composition, and a method of forming a film with the curable composition are also disclosed. The compositions and methods are useful for forming silicone release coatings with high release force.
