Abstract:
An electrophotographic process cartridge develops an electrostatic latent image with two layers or less of polymeric toner. The electrophotographic process cartridge includes a charging roller for uniformly distributing a layer of electrical charge on an outer surface of a photosensitive drum, a developing roller for transferring particles of polymeric toner each having a substantially spherical shape onto the outer surface of the photosensitive drum, and a control roller for engaging an outer surface of the developing roller to enable formation of two layers or less of polymeric toner particles on the outer surface of the developing roller. The particles of polymeric toner are transferred from the outer surface of the developing roller to the outer surface of the photosensitive drum for a printing operation, and remaining toner particles are transferred from the outer surface of the photosensitive drum back to the outer surface of the developing roller after the printing operation by a bias voltage applied to the developing roller.
Abstract:
A toner cartridge horizontally installed in an electrophotographic printer having a photoreceptor drum where an electrostatic latent image is formed by charging and exposure, and contributing to toner supply and development by being fixedly coupled to in the electrophotographic printer. The toner cartridge includes a housing filled with toner of a predetermined color, a development roller rotatably installed on the housing to face the photoreceptor drum and to supply the toner to the photoreceptor drum to develop an image by a difference in electrical potential, a supply roller rotatably installed in the housing in contact with the development roller and to control the toner to adhere to the development roller, and a guide member coupled to the housing to be disposed under the supply roller and to guide supply of the toner. When a diameter of the development roller is D2, the diameter D2 satisfies an inequality that 10.4≦D2≦22.1 mm.

Abstract:
A developing cartridge is provided including a first frame on which a photosensitive drum is arranged, a second frame which is pivotably coupled to the first frame, and a developing roller which is coupled to the second frame. A pair of gap maintaining elements configured to facilitate maintenance of a constant developing gap are arranged on both ends of the developing roller. The developing roller and the pair of gap maintaining elements are arranged on the second frame to pivot in a direction opposite to a pivoting direction of the second frame.

A waste toner transporting apparatus which transfers waste toner removed from a photosensitive drum to a waste toner housing is provided. The waste toner transporting apparatus includes a toner transporting plate arranged substantially above a cleaning blade. A transporting member is installed at one end of the toner transporting plate and has a cam follower arranged on an opposite side of the toner transporting plate. A driving cam contacts the cam follower and converts rotational motion into linear reciprocating motion to enable the toner transporting plate to reciprocate on the cleaning blade.

A variable damper includes a first plate connected to a first rotating shaft and a second plate connected to a second rotating shaft. A damper spring transmits power between the first and second plates, and a variable friction apparatus regulates a frictional force between the first and second plates. The variable friction apparatus includes a solenoid coil, a solenoid pawl, a pressure plate with a slanted surface, a friction plate between the pressure plate and the second plate, a wedge contacting the pressure plate and movable along the slanted surface in response to the state of the solenoid pawl, and a wedge spring supporting the wedge.
Abstract:
An electrophotographic device that allows a user to produce optimum image density images on a variety of recording medium. The electrophotographic device can sense the path a sheet of recording medium takes when being conveyed to an image control unit. From this information, the electrophotographic device can sense from which one of a plurality of input trays the sheet of recording medium originated from, and then automatically adjust the transfer voltage based on which tray the sheet of recording medium originated from. If the recording medium is fed through the automatic feeder, a first transfer voltage is automatically applied during the printing process. If the sheet of recording medium is inserted through a manual feed unit, a second transfer voltage having a greater magnitude than the first transfer voltage is automatically applied during the printing process. Thus, it is possible to achieve optimum image density for a variety of recording medium having a variety of thicknesses.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an improved taping apparatus which comprises a cam mechanism and a belt member disposed around the circumferential surface of the cam mechanism, whereby the belt member rotating along the periphery of the cam mechanism can continuously apply a tape around a peripheral surface of the object, in particular in the shape of a closed-loop, while the object is disposed within the central space of the cam mechanism, so that the tape can be automatically applied around the object and the productivity can be improved. The taping apparatus is characterized by an annular cam mechanism supported at both sides by frames and having an entrance formed through a part of the cam mechanism, through which entrance the object to be taped can be introduced into the central space of the cam mechanism; an annular belt member loosely encompassing the peripheral surface of the cam mechanism and extended across the entrance, so that when the object is introduced into the central space of the cam mechanism through the entrance, the belt member can be stretched and bring the tape into tight contact with the surface of the object; and a drive unit for rotating the cam mechanism so that the belt member can continuously contact the peripheral surface of the object and simultaneously apply the tape around the object.
