    Abstract: A propeller shaft for transmitting driving force of a vehicle includes a first shaft unit mounted to the vehicle via a vehicle mounting member. The first shaft unit includes a sleeve yoke, a stub shaft, and a tube. The sleeve yoke is connected to an output shaft of a transmission of the vehicle, and receives the driving force via the output shaft. The stub shaft is disposed oppositely to the sleeve yoke in a direction of a rotational axis of the first shaft unit. The tube connects the sleeve yoke and the stub shaft. The stub shaft includes a weakest part structured to be less in torsional strength than a remaining part of the first shaft unit and formed at a position at which the stub shaft overlaps with the vehicle mounting member in the direction of the rotational axis.

    Abstract: Propeller shaft has boot member (7) whose one end is fixed to sleeve shaft (2) and whose other end is fixed to stub shaft (3), and boot bands (8) fixing boot member (7) to sleeve shaft (2) and stub shaft (3). Protrusions (74) fitted in respective fitting grooves (26) formed on outer circumferential surfaces of sleeve shaft (2) and stub shaft (3) are provided on inner circumferential sides of one end and the other end of the boot member (7). At each of sleeve shaft (2) and stub shaft (3), first outer diameter section (231) having diameter larger than an inside diameter (D1) of protrusion (74) is provided at one side with respect to fitting groove (26), also second outer diameter section (232) having diameter larger than an outside diameter (X1) of first outer diameter section (231) is provided at the other side with respect to fitting groove (26).

    Abstract: An apparatus and methods are provided for a modular front drivetrain comprising a single assembly that may be installed onto and removed from a vehicle. The modular front drivetrain comprises a modular chassis supporting a transaxle, a front differential, and a steering gear for operating front wheels of the vehicle. The transaxle, the front differential and drive axles convey torque from an engine onboard the vehicle to the front wheels. A spindle assembly is coupled with each front wheel of the vehicle and pivotally joined with the modular chassis by way of a front suspension system. Steering rods coupled with the spindle assemblies horizontally rotate the front wheels according to operation of a steering wheel onboard the vehicle. The modular front drivetrain advantageously facilitates replacing an entire drivetrain and suspension assembly quickly and easily in the event of a part failure during racing applications.

    Abstract: A drive device has two electric drive machines for distributing the torque between two wheels of an axle of a motor vehicle and an inverter unit which is electrically connected to the drive machines for converting an electrical DC signal into a drive-machine-specific electrical AC signal. The two drive machines are arranged spaced apart from one another in the axial direction to form an intermediate space, and components of the inverter unit are arranged in a first area, located in the intermediate space and oriented in a first direction transversely with respect to the axial direction, of the drive device, and in a second area, adjoining the intermediate space and oriented parallel to the axial direction, of the drive device, to form a low-inductance, T-shaped inverter architecture.
