Abstract:
A CD drive has a pick-up head for reading data of an optical disc, and a motor for rotating the optical disc. The method first adjusts the rotary speed of the motor so that the vibration frequency of the CD drive is approximately the resonance frequency of a coil of the pick-up head. Then, when the vibration frequency of the CD drive is approximately the resonance frequency of the coil of the pick-up head, the method detects if the voltage of a central error (CE) signal of the CD drive is greater than a threshold voltage. Finally, the method determines if the optical disc is an unbalanced disc according to the comparison result.
Abstract:
A device for detecting electrical impedance by utilizing a theory of excitation and response signals and method thereof, wherein the excitation signal is a square wave excitation current signal (1), the response signal on a target is transformed to a square wave signal with appropriate amplitudes by buffering, amplifying, RC filtering and differential amplifying, then is transformed to a digital signal at a proper time by an analog-to-digital converter. The response signal is sampled once when at high level and once when at low level for every circle by the ADC, and a sample V1 and a sample V2 are obtained respectively, difference of the samples is taken as a detecting result for one circle. An average value of the detecting result from a plurality of circles is taken as a final result. Information of electrical impedance is illustrated by the final result because the excitation current signal is constant.
Abstract:
A backlight driving circuit includes a light driving unit, which includes a constant current unit, and a light source operated by the constant current unit. The light driving unit further includes a feedback control unit and a detection circuit. The detection circuit detects the light source and outputs at least a voltage feedback signal to the feedback control unit. The feedback control unit obtains a prestored power parameter corresponding to the voltage feedback signal and outputs an adjusting signal to the constant current unit to adjust the constant current of the light source.

The present invention discloses a transgenic Drosophila line with genes of first fluorescent proteins and genes of second fluorescent proteins, wherein the genes of first fluorescent proteins are utilized to identify a predetermined area of tissues or a predetermined number of cells in the transgenic Drosophila line with a first exciting light source, and the genes of second fluorescent proteins are utilized to identify specific cells or neurons within the predetermined area of tissues or among the predetermined number of cells by illumination with a second exciting light source.
Abstract:
A seeking control system in an optical disc drive is disclosed. The system comprises a servo controller, a velocity control unit, and a switch unit. The servo controller receives a central servo signal to output a first tracking control signal for the tracking coil. The velocity control unit receives a tracking error signal to determine a velocity of the pickup head and compares the velocity of the pickup head with a predetermined velocity profile to generate the second tracking control signal. The switch unit outputs the second tracking control signal instead of the first tracking control signal to the motor driver to control the pickup head moving steadily.

Abstract:
An on-line sensor for measuring volumetric concentration or percent solids of a slurry flowing in a pipeline includes a section of composite or dielectric pipe connected in the pipeline, with a plurality of sensing electrodes mounted around the periphery of the composite pipe having their inner ends in contact with the slurry flowing therethrough. Preferably the inner ends of the sensor electrodes are flush with the inner pipe wall surface. An electrical signal is applied to a bridge circuit that is connected to successive pairs of sensor electrodes around the periphery of the sensor and the ratios of the local conductivity between adjacent pairs of sensing electrodes to the conductivity between a pair of reference electrodes in contact with the liquid are measured and are used to compute the local slurry concentration between adjacent pairs of sensing electrodes. A computer algorithm is used to average the local slurry concentration and produce an output signal representing the average solids volumetric concentration in the pipeline.
