Abstract:
An apparatus and method for providing mobile broadcasting services through a communication network and a broadcast network, wherein a mobile terminal receives and stores Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) access address through an Electronic Service Guide (ESG) bootstrap File deLivery over Unidirectional Transport (FLUTE) session. The GMT access address is included in the ESG bootstrap FLUTE session when transmitted. The mobile terminal requests the GMT from the communication network using the GMT access address, receives the GMT from the communication network, and stores and sets the GMT.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for reproducing media data are provided. The method includes: receiving a first file including information about a period of first content and information about a period of second content; receiving and reproducing media data of the first content based on the received first file; stopping reproducing of the media data of the first content and receiving and reproducing media data of the second content based on the first file; and receiving and reproducing the media data of the first content when the reproducing the media data of the second content is completed, wherein the information about the period of the second content includes location information about the second media data of the second content or location information of a second file including the location information about the second media data of the second content.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transferring user information between different terminals are disclosed. The method includes saving by a first terminal, when a change is made to user information during playback of content, the changed user information in a scene history, performing a terminal change from the first terminal to a second terminal, and resuming, by the second terminal, playback of the content from a continued scene after the last scene played back by the first terminal. Consequently, in a terminal change, the user may use the second terminal to play back the same content from the continued scene using the same content usage environment as the first terminal.
Abstract:
A service provision method in an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network is provided. A service request message is transmitted from a first user terminal to a second user terminal for requesting a service. The service request message includes global identifiers (IDs) allocated to the first user terminal and the second user terminal. A service response message is transmitted from the second user terminal to the first user terminal. A service session is established between the first user terminal and the second user terminal, when the service response message is received by the first user terminal.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method are provided for providing a structured rich media-based User Interface (UI) for producing situation-adaptive UI with a structured UI format composed of the rich media data including diverse multimedia and interactions. AUI UI format is created that includes a header and scene data. The header contains basic information on the UI and the scene data is composed of the UI. The UI format is encoded. The encoded UI format is transmitted. The header further includes initial information, configuration information, and layout information.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for sending a broadcast service in a digital broadcasting system. The method includes assigning a same Internet Protocol (IP) address for a common broadcast service when the common broadcast service is provided in at least two IP platforms, each of the at least two IP platforms providing a broadcast service to a terminal; delivering the common broadcast service using the same IP address; and delivering related information relevant to the common broadcast service.
Abstract:
A computer readable medium having data stored thereon is provided. A structure of the data includes a media data box including two or more media data, and a movie data (‘moov’) box including information on view sequence data in the media data. The ‘moov’ box includes track reference information indicating that a track box for one view sequence references a track box of another view sequence.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving LASeR contents are provided, in which content including at least one of a scene element and a scene element set that includes the scene element is received, for use in scene composition, and a scene is composed by selecting at least one of the at least one of the scene element and the scene element set included in the content according to at least one of a terminal type, a user preference, and a content-serviced party.
Abstract:
A method for controlling a local printer connected to a PC (Personal Computer) using a portable terminal for mobile communication in a home network system. The method controls the printer serving as a local device not included in the home network system by means of the portable terminal for mobile communication serving as a home networking device. In the home network system including the portable terminal and the PC, the portable terminal is connected to the PC by means of home networking. Content within the PC is searched for and selected using the portable terminal. The portable terminal sends a print request message to the PC so that the local printer can print the selected content. In response to the print request message, the PC creates a print job and transfers the selected content to the local printer so that the local printer can print the transferred content. The portable terminal receives a result of the print job from the local printer through the PC.
