Abstract:
Methods, systems, and computer readable media for utilizing a standard spanning tree protocol to designate an active switching device in a network node are disclosed. In one example, the method includes generating a virtual network topology representation that includes a payload processing device connected to each of a first switching device and a second switching device, transmitting, from each of the first and second switching devices to the payload processing device, a standard spanning tree protocol signaling message that contains the virtual network topology representation and a bridge root priority identifier that has been derived using an algorithm that considers whether the transmitting switching device is a preferred active switching device or a preferred standby switching device, and signaling messages at the payload processing device to select the preferred active switching device as a root bridge of a logical spanning tree based on comparing bridge root priority identifiers.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and computer readable media for utilizing a standard spanning tree protocol to designate an active switching device in a network node are disclosed. In one example, the method includes generating a virtual network topology representation that includes a payload processing device connected to each of a first switching device and a second switching device, which share a virtual link that indicates that the first and second switching devices provide the same network access in the virtual network topology representation. The method also includes transmitting, from each of the first and second switching devices to the payload processing device, a standard spanning tree protocol signaling message that contains the virtual network topology representation and a bridge root priority identifier, wherein the bridge root priority identifier has been derived using an algorithm that considers whether the transmitting switching device is a preferred active switching device or a preferred standby switching device. The method further includes receiving the transmitted spanning tree protocol signaling messages and utilizing a standard spanning tree protocol at the payload processing device to construct a logical spanning tree using the virtual network topology representation and to select the preferred active switching device as a root bridge of the logical spanning tree based on comparing the bridge root priority identifiers as required by the standard spanning tree protocol, wherein the payload processing device only communicates application data via a link to the switching device designated as the root bridge.
Abstract:
A computer-implemented building design and modeling system, method, and computer program product are provided. In one example, the computer program product includes computer executable instructions for processing by a computer system. The instructions include instructions for creating instances of parametric objects in a spatial database, where each of the parametric objects represents a construction component of a structure to be modeled and includes a user interface for enabling a user to input design data for the parametric object. The instructions also include instructions for initiating assembly of the parametric objects to create a partial building model. The parametric objects include ordinary elements and massing elements, the massing elements being capable of placing instances of other objects into the spatial database and subsequently passing data to and receiving data from the placed objects.
Abstract:
An applicator and material dispensing system having an applicator frictionally retained within an applicator holder and the applicator holder frangibly attached to a material holder. Material placed within the material holder is initially sealed by a frangible portion adjacent one end of the applicator holder. Upon separation of the applicator holder from the material holder the material contained therein is exposed permitting the applicator, upon removal from the applicator holder, to be used to dispense the material. The invention is particularly well suited to dispensing small quantities of dental material.
Abstract:

The unit also includes a processor that includes cryptographic handshake logic and has an input operatively connected to the output of the cryptographic record parsing offload engine.
Abstract:
An exhaust system for an internal combustion engine has a catalysed ceramic wall flow particulate filter coated with a washcoat composition. The washcoat composition includes an oxidation catalyst of at least one platinum group metal and a NOx absorbent. The washcoat composition has a D50 of less than or equal to 8 μm. The NOx absorbent absorbs NOx contained in an exhaust gas when the composition of the exhaust gas is lambda >1, and releases the NOx absorbed in the NOx absorbent when the exhaust gas composition is 1≦lambda. The exhaust system has a platinum group metal catalyst upstream of the filter for oxidising NO to NO2 at least when the composition of the exhaust gas is lambda >1. The uncoated portions of the ceramic wall flow particulate filter have a porosity of >40% and a mean pore size of 8-25 μm.
Abstract:
A beverage dispenser for brewing a beverage from a container of brewable material into a receptacle. The beverage dispenser may include a source of hot water, a nozzle for injecting the hot water into the container such that the hot water flows through the container and a brewed beverage flows into the receptacle, a source of a secondary fluid, and a valve for flowing the secondary fluid into the receptacle so as to mix the secondary fluid with the brewed beverage.
Abstract:
A sleeve terminal which provides a continually assured level of normal force with respect to a received pin terminal, even as the sleeve member thereof may tend to relax over time. The sleeve terminal includes a sleeve member having a slot which allows the sleeve member to be resiliently expanded when a pin terminal is inserted therewithin. A pair of resilient arms characterized by an opposing V-shape are formed integrally with the sleeve member on opposing sides of the slot. The apex of the resilient arms provides a contact location with the inner surface of a barrel which is concentrically receives the sleeve terminal. A free end of each resilient arm is spaced a predetrmined distance from the sleeve member. A wire mount is connected to the sleeve member opposite the slot. In operation, a pin terminal is inserted into the sleeve member, causing the sleeve member to be resiliently expanded as the slot widens. The sleeve terminal is then received into a barrel, during which operation the resilient arms tend to become flattened, eventually resulting in the free ends abutting the sleeve member, whereupon any further compression of the resilient arms is accompanied by an increased application of normal force against the inner surface of the barrel in one direction and against the sleeve member, and in turn the pin terminal, in the opposite direction.
