摘要: An optical fiber ribbon includes a plurality of optical fiber cores arranged in parallel in a direction orthogonal to a longitudinal direction of the optical fiber cores, and a coupling member configured to couple the plurality of optical fiber cores. In the optical fiber ribbon, a plurality of coupled sections and a plurality of separate sections are alternately provided in the longitudinal direction. Each of the plurality of coupled sections is in a state in which all of the adjacent optical fiber cores are coupled by the coupling member. Each of the plurality of separate sections is in a state in which at least two of the optical fiber cores adjacent to each other are not coupled by the coupling member.

摘要: An optical connector including a housing body having a ferrule, an outer housing, a latch, and a tab is disclosed. The latch extends from a proximal end toward a front end of the optical connector and includes an engaging part at a distal end. The tab is placed on an outer side of the latch, movable with respect to the outer housing, and pushes down the engaging part toward the housing body according to movement of the tab. The distal end of the latch floats to space apart from the housing body. A first protrusion is disposed on an inner side of the tab. The optical connector is configured to contact an inner side of the latch with the first protrusion to push down the engaging part toward the housing body with the first protrusion as a fulcrum when the engaging part is engaged with the external device.

摘要: An elastic member according to an embodiment is an elastic member that biases a ferrule retaining a plurality of optical fibers in a connecting direction. The elastic member is stored in an inner housing that accommodates the ferrule, the elastic member has a space in its inside into which a 16-fiber tape fiber is inserted, and the elastic member is in a noncircular shape in a cross section intersecting with the connecting direction. The elastic member includes a pair of first portions having an outer surface opposite to a pair of inner surfaces in an arc shape of the housing, the inner surfaces being opposite to each other along a first direction intersecting with the connecting direction and a pair of second portions opposite to the tape fiber along a second direction intersecting with both of the connecting direction and the first direction.

摘要: A device for fusion splicing, by an arc discharge, a pair or a plurality of pairs of optical fibers arranged so that end surfaces thereof face each other. An optical fiber arrangement portion positions the pair or the plurality of pairs of optical fibers between a pair of electrodes. A control portion controls a voltage applied to the pair of electrodes. The control portion generates a first discharge between the pair of electrodes, stops the first discharge between the pair of electrodes, and then generates an arc discharge between the pair of electrodes to fusion-splice the pair or the plurality of pairs of optical fibers to each other. A discharge time of the first discharge is 200 milliseconds or less. A time from stopping the first discharge to starting the arc discharge is 100 milliseconds or less.

摘要: An optical connector of one embodiment includes an optical fiber, a ferrule assembly, and a housing provided with a positioning part on an inner wall surface for suppressing a fluctuation in an aligning state of the optical fiber with respect to the housing. The positioning part includes an inclined surface and a facing surface which contact a part of the ferrule assembly. The ferrule assembly includes a ferrule, and a sleeve member. The sleeve member is constituted by a sleeve and a flange which has edges contacting the inclined surface and the facing surface respectively. Of an outer peripheral portion of the flange, a portion including the edges facing at least one of the inclined surface and the facing surface includes a set including a deformation absorbing part and two contact portions disposed on both sides of the deformation absorbing part.
