Abstract: A method is proposed for establishing termination criteria for a partial stroke test on a safety valve, including: a) A partial stroke test is carried out when the safety valve is operational. b) Position of the valve member and pressure in the drive fluid are recorded. c) A first relation is derived, which relates position of the valve member, time, pressure of the drive fluid, and/or control deviation to one another. d) This relation is defined as a safety valve reference curve. e) A second relation is defined, which has a predetermined distance from the reference curve. f) Termination criterion include: If the partial stroke test is repeated on the same valve, the same data are recorded and a third relation is derived for the reference curve, the partial stroke test is not passed if the third relation has a greater distance to the reference curve than the second relation.

Abstract: The invention relates to an electric field device (10) with an ignition protection-type pressure-tight encapsulation for use in explosion-prone regions for controlling and/or regulating a valve unit of a process system, comprising a housing (12), in which a control unit (48) that comprises electronic components and is used as a monitoring, control, and/or regulating unit is arranged, said control unit (48) having a releasable communication connection to an operating unit (62). The housing (12) can be connected to a drive housing of the valve unit via a mechanical interface (42), and the housing has at least one connection feedthrough (44), via which at least one line can be connected that is connected to the control unit (48) via a connection interface (46). The invention is characterized in that the housing (12) is designed as a housing assembly with a modular structure, having a first module (16) which is formed together with the mechanical interface (42) to the drive housing and the connection feedthrough (44). The control unit (48) is secured in the first module (16) and has an interface to a control center, wherein the first module (16) can be mechanically connected to a cover element (20) selectively either directly or indirectly in a releasable manner, and the indirect connection of the first module (16) to the cover element (20) is produced with the interposition of a second module (18). The operating unit (62) is arranged in a stationary manner in the second module (16), and the second module (18) can be fixed in different angular orientations about a longitudinal axis of the electric field device relative to the first module (16).

Abstract: Electropneumatic solenoid valve includes an electromagnetic actuator with an energizable coil and a solenoid armature movable relative to the coil, an air chamber with three air channels, and a valve member. The three air channels include first and second air channels and a control air channel. Abstract: The disclosure provides a method for testing a solenoid valve for triggering a safety valve having a single-acting fluidic drive and a positioner. The drive fluid pressure is increased by a first pressure difference. An attempt is made to switch the solenoid valve to the safety position. The drive fluid pressure is measured at a specified point in time that is selected such that the pressure in the drive fluid lowers at most by the first pressure difference. If the pressure in the drive fluid is higher than a reference pressure at the specified point in time, the functionality test of the solenoid valve is failed. The lowering of the pressure in the drive fluid is monitored over a defined period of time to make conclusions regarding the pressure generating system. The pressure does not fall below the operating pressure so the position of the valve member remains constant.

Abstract: An adjustable electro-pneumatic converter or transducer based on the nozzle/baffle plate principle is proposed. A defined roughness (Rz) of the baffle plate surface can prevent the occurrence of Bernoulli forces at output pressures close to the initial pressure, i.e. when the exhaust nozzle (140) is almost completely closed by the baffle plate (100). The system thus becomes more dynamically controllable under these conditions. Such a converter can be used to control any consumer system, e.g. air power amplifiers for electro-pneumatic positioners.

Abstract: Control valves find one of their most important applications in control loops of process plants for controlling the flow rate of a gaseous or liquid medium. To this end, it is crucial that the flow rate can be reliably adjusted and that safe operation, especially with hazardous substances, can be guaranteed. To solve this problem, a hole pattern for perforated plugs (300) of control valves is proposed, which allows the densest possible arrangement of openings (220) on helical lines where the height of the helical lines is minimal and, at the same time, advantageous technical specifications and safety regulations can be taken into account. The pattern allows to generate a very smooth flow characteristic, which facilitates a reliable control of the flow rate. Moreover, the flow rate can be optimized such that the size of the moving parts of the control valve can be reduced to a minimum.
