    Abstract: A valve trim that is configured to abate noise in a control valve. These configurations may include a cage with a flow path that has interior and exterior openings. The cage may also have a bore to receive a closure member or “plug.” This plug can travel longitudinally to change parameters of flow through the control valve. In one implementation, the interior and exterior openings are vertically offset or spaced from another along the axis of the bore. In one implementation, the exterior openings are in a section of the cage that is not normally exposed to flow. This feature can increase density of noise-abating features within given dimensions for the cage (or the valve trim itself). Use of additive manufacturing may be useful (or even necessary) to create these parts within certain design envelopes because these techniques can create the unique flow geometry within a unitary or monolithic body. In this way, the valve trim of the present disclosure can maintain, or even reduce, costs of the control valve, while at the same time it can simply the overall construction of the valve device.

    Abstract: A control valve includes a body having an inlet and an outlet, a valve seat positioned in a passageway of the body between the inlet and the outlet, and a valve plug movable between a closed position and an open position. A trim assembly is disposed within the body to provide guidance for the valve plug and to condition a flow of fluid through the control valve. The trim assembly includes a top portion and a bottom portion. A plurality of ribs extend between the top portion and the bottom portion and a plurality of arcuate lattice segments are removably secured between the top portion and the bottom portion and separated from adjacent lattice segments by a rib of the plurality of ribs. Each lattice segment has a plurality of passages that extend between an inner surface and an outer surface of the lattice segment.

    Abstract: A vacuum valve for high/ultra-high vacuum systems includes a valve housing defining a passage connecting a first and a second opening of the housing. A valve body and a complementary seat is disposed in the passage, the valve body and/or the seat including a seal and the valve body being movable in a linear axial direction along between an open position and a closed position. The valve body cooperates with the seat in the closed position so as to close the first opening gas-tightly. An electromechanical actuation unit for actuating the valve body includes an electric motor and a mechanical conversion unit with an input portion drivingly connected to the motor and an output portion drivingly connected to the valve body. The conversion unit converts a rotational output of the electrical motor into a linear movement of an output portion to move the valve body in the axial direction.

    Abstract: A valve assembly includes a valve body defining a fluid inlet in fluid communication with a fluid outlet. The valve body has an inner body surface defining an interior chamber extending between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet. A valve element is disposed within the interior chamber and rotatable through a range of positions relative to the outlet providing a high level of precision control of a fluid flow rate through the valve assembly. A valve seat with a seal is positioned around a valve element.     Abstract: A valve assembly for an active clearance control (ACC) system in a gas turbine engine. The assembly comprises a first valve disc positioned within a first outlet duct, a second valve disc positioned within the second outlet duct, and a shaft coupled to the first and second valve discs such that rotation of the shaft rotates both the first and second valve discs within the first and second outlet ducts, respectively. A flow control member in the second outlet duct surrounds the second valve disc, and is configured to restrict fluid flow passing through the second outlet duct to a greater extent than the fluid flow passing through the first outlet duct for a given degree of rotation of the first and second valve discs. A corresponding ACC system, gas turbine and method is also provided.

    Abstract: A fuel tank isolation valve for a vehicle includes a drive unit having a solenoid coil; a flow path unit having a vaporized fuel gas flow path; a valve assembly configured to open or close the flow path in the flow path unit by being operated by the drive unit, where the valve assembly includes: a first valve configured to open the flow path by being operated by a magnetic force generated by the coil; and a second valve configured to open the flow path while operating in conjunction with the first valve by being caught by the first valve when the first valve operates. The first valve and the second valve may operate in conjunction with each other by being mechanically caught, such that it is not necessary to provide a separate spring for operating the second valve.
