    摘要: Disclosed are embodiments and methods relating to the treatment of textile, such as a textile substrate, with an aqueous dispersion of surface-functionalized particles and a fluorochemical, or a textile substrate treated with an aqueous dispersion of surface-functionalized particles, a fluorochemical, and a flame retardant chemical. Textiles treated in accordance with the disclosed embodiments (e.g., fluorine concentration of from 20 to 900 ppm) demonstrate an average burn rate less than about 4.0 inch/minute, and an average weight loss is less than about 40% of the original weight. During burning of the treated textile, flaming drips extinguish (on average) in less than about 2 seconds, or does not increase the peak heat release rate by more than about 70%, and the mass loss rate by more than about 50%.

    摘要: The invention relates to an imaging element comprising an imaging layer and a support, wherein the support comprises a base material having thereon at least two polyolefin layers, wherein the uppermost layer of the at least two polyolefin layers comprises a mixture of optical brighteners comprising a Compound A having the following formula: a Compound B having the following formula: and a Compound C having the following formula: wherein the layers below the uppermost layer of the at least two polyolefin layers comprise migratory optical brightener; and wherein the imaging layer is on the same side of the base material as the at least two polyolefin layers. The inventive support unexpectedly minimizes exudation of the brightener at the polyolefin surface and provides excellent absorption/emission characteristics, brightening power and heat to meet the critical requirements of the photographic field.

    摘要: An ink jet printing method comprising the steps of: a) providing an ink jet printer that is responsive to digital data signals; b) loading the printer with an ink jet recording element comprising a substrate having thereon an image-receiving layer comprising an inorganic, anionic pigment, an organic, anionic binder and an organic, cationic mordant, and a porous overcoat layer located over the image-receiving layer, the porous overcoat layer comprising an inorganic pigment and an organic, anionic, binder, wherein the refractive index of the inorganic pigment in the overcoat layer is at least 0.05 refractive index units less than the refractive index of the inorganic, anionic pigment in the image-receiving layer; c) loading the printer with an ink jet ink composition; and d) printing on the recording element using the ink jet ink in response to the digital data signals.
