摘要:
A system continuously drives a motor during normal and power failure operating conditions. A regenerative drive delivers power to the motor from a main power supply during the normal operating condition and from a backup power supply during the power failure operating condition. A controller operates the regenerative drive to provide available power on the regenerative drive to the backup power supply during the normal operating condition.

A device (22) manages power source variations in an elevator system. The device includes a transformer (60) having a primary (62) and a secondary (64). An input of the elevator system is connected to the secondary (64). Tap switches (66a, 66b, 66c, 66d) are connected to the transformer (60) such that each tap switch is connected to a tap point (68a, 68b, 68c, 68d) on the transformer (60). A controller (54) operates the tap switches (66a, 66b, 66c, 66d) based on a sensed power source output to provide power on the secondary (64) within a tolerance band of the elevator system.

A system continuously drives an elevator hoist motor during normal and power failure conditions. A regenerative drive delivers power from a main power supply to the hoist motor during normal operation. A rescue operation circuit includes a backup power supply and is operable in the event of a failure of the main power supply to disconnect the regenerative drive from the main power supply and connect the back up power supply to the regenerative drive to provide substantially uninterrupted power to the hoist motor.

A hoist motor (12) for an elevator (14) is continuously driven from an irregular power supply (16). A regenerative drive (10) delivers power between the power supply (16) and the hoist motor (12). A controller (11) measures a power supply voltage in response to a detected change in the power supply voltage and controls the regenerative drive (10) to adjust a nominal motion profile of the elevator (14) in proportion with an adjustment ratio of the measured power supply voltage to a normal power supply voltage.

In a pulse width modulation-controlled, switched bridge, DC converter, the phase angle (44, 45) of the AC mains (4) is provided without sensing the voltage thereof, by a phase-locked loop (47) having one input (75) derived (126) from the in-phase voltage command Vde* (61) and another finit (77) approximating the line frequency; the phase-locked loop is initialized at a phase angle &thgr;init(76) equal to the arctangent (124) of the in-phase Vdest, and quadrature Vqest representation of estimated line voltages ere, ese, ete (119-121) derived during an initialization cycle from reconstruction of the fundamental component of the AC main currents at a phase angle (93) changing with said frequency. Reconstruction includes providing the discrete Fourier transform (DFT, 81) of signals indicative of currents (37) in the AC mains and the inverse DFT (122) of the resultant Fourier coefficients eia, eib.

A method and/or apparatus for converting voltage using a pulse width modulator and an inverter/converter, the inverter/converter including three legs and a triangle signal generator providing a triangle signal having a peak magnitude. A plurality of sinusoidal reference signals are provided which are displaced from one another by a phase angle. The absolute values of the maximum and minimum values of the reference signals are detected, if the absolute value of the maximum signal is greater than or equal to the absolute value of the minimum signal, the maximum signal is subtracted from the peak magnitude to produce a modifier signal. If the absolute value of the maximum signal is less than the absolute value of the minimum signal, the inverted minimum signal is added to the negative of the peak magnitude of the carrier to produce the modifier signal. The modifier signal is added to each of the sinusoidal reference signals for providing a plurality of modified reference signals to the inverter/converter, one modified reference signal provided to each leg.

The invention is used in a voltage conversion bridge for use in converting an AC voltage to a DC voltage or inverting a DC voltage into an AC voltage. In a three-phase bridge having one of three reference phase voltages U.sub.A or U.sub.B or U.sub.C associated with each leg, one of the switches S1, S2 or S3 (or alternatively their complements S1*, S2* or S3*) conducts in the time intervals where the associated voltage U.sub.A, U.sub.B or U.sub.C has a higher (or alternatively, smaller) amplitude than the other two reference voltages, and during these times the blanking interval compensation loss is compensated. According to the invention, (a) a three reference voltages are supplied; (b) the maximum of these voltages is detected; (c) the maximum is subtracted f the peak value of a triangle wave used for forming difference; (d) the difference is added to each of reference voltages to form a three first augmented reference voltages to a blanking interval loss compensator; (e) if the voltage conversion bridge is not saturated and adding a blanking interval deviation voltage compensation signal would not cause saturation, a blanking interval voltage deviation compensation signal is added to the first augmented reference voltages to compensate for voltage deviation caused by a blanking interval, thereby providing second augmented reference signals; and (f) the compensated signals are supplied to the PWM section, which in turn supplies PWM signals to a three-phase bridge. This method minimizes voltage deviations caused by the use of a blanking interval.

Heat in a drive system including a motor and a drive is removed using heat pipes in heat exchanging contact with the motor and the drive. The heat conducting element have at least one portion for receiving heat from the motor or the drive, and another portion to transfer heat to a heat exchange device that is spaced from the motor and drive. The heat conducting element may be a heat pipe or a heat spreader element.
