Abstract:
A double cavity type steel slag treatment equipment by barrel method employing mandrel support comprises left and right barrel bodies, flow branching pan, mandrel, feed funnel. Between the left and right barrel bodies is disposed a flow branching pan, over which is mounted a feed funnel and below which is mounted a retaining ring. The mandrel is fixedly connected to the left and right barrel bodies and flow branching pan, supporting bearings are mounted at two ends of the mandrel, left and right barrel bodies have inner and outer portions, inner barrel body is made of grid section, one end of grid section is fixed on the end cover of outer barrel body through an insertion opening made of supporting rings, the other end of grid section is joined with the supporting ring fixedly connected on outer barrel body.
Abstract:
A method for page random write and read in blocks of flash memory is disclosed. The data could be random written in the pages of block. The pages would be arranged when the block was filled with data, so as to prevent from data copied and erased repeatedly. Present invention would reduce the data read/write time and increase the life-span of flash memory.
Abstract:
A storage apparatus includes a first storage unit and at least a second storage unit. A method for accessing the storage apparatus generates a plurality of bad block lists regarding the plurality of the storage units, respectively, and according to at least one bad block indicated by a bad block list of the first storage unit, configures at least a good block in each second storage unit corresponding to the at least one bad block of the first storage unit as a replacement block of each second storage unit. Accordingly, the method generates a mapping result of each second storage unit according to a bad block list of the second storage unit and each replacement block, and accesses the storage apparatus according to the bad block list of the first storage unit and each mapping result.
Abstract:
A regimen for the safe and effective long-term treatment of acne vulgaris entails topically applying onto the affected skin area of a subject afflicted therewith, for a period of time of at least four (4) months, e.g., for at least twelve (12) months and advantageously on a daily basis and preferably once a day, a thus effective amount of a topical medicament containing adapalene and benzoyl peroxide, formulated into a pharmaceutically acceptable medium therefor.
Abstract:
An apparatus for processing input signals includes a signal receiver, a comparator, first and second drivers, and a calculator. The signal receiver is used for receiving input signals. The comparator compares the input signals with predetermined signals and generates unit signals representing a corresponding comparison result. The first driver generates first drive signals according to the unit signals. The calculator generates a result signal according to the unit signals. The second driver generates a second drive signal according to the result signal.
Abstract:
An intelligent channel allocation method is used for detecting and avoiding a second wireless communication system taking advantage of the characteristic of a first wireless communication system in two different wireless communication system. The first wireless communication system features a narrower bandwidth, while the second wireless communication system has a non-fixed length of a frame for sending/receiving or a broader bandwidth. When these wireless communication system use a same radio frequency (RF) band, the carriers used by them are overlapped. To avoid the mutual interference, the first wireless communication system uses a background scanning mechanism to simultaneously detect the second wireless communication system and a presence range of the second wireless communication system is decided, followed by executing a handover scheme.
Abstract:
An image retrieval system performs both keyword-based and content-based image retrieval. A user interface allows a user to specify queries using a combination of keywords and examples images. Depending on the input query, the image retrieval system finds images with keywords that match the keywords in the query and/or images with similar low-level features, such as color, texture, and shape. The system ranks the images and returns them to the user. The user interface allows the user to identify images that are more relevant to the query, as well as images that are less or not relevant to the query. The user may alternatively elect to refine the search by selecting one example image from the result set and submitting its low-level features in a new query. The image retrieval system monitors the user feedback and uses it to refine any search efforts and to train itself for future search queries. In the described implementation, the image retrieval system seamlessly integrates feature-based relevance feedback and semantic-based relevance feedback.
Abstract:
Text features corresponding to pieces of media content (e.g., images, audio, multimedia content, etc.) are extracted from media content sources. One or more text features (e.g., one or more words) for a piece of media content are extracted from text associated with the piece of media content and text feature vectors generated therefrom and used during subsequent searching. Additional low-level feature vectors may also be extracted from the piece of media content and used during the subsequent searching. Relevance feedback can also be received from a user(s) identifying the relevance of pieces of media content rendered to the user in response to his or her search request. The relevance feedback is logged and can be used in determining how to respond to subsequent search requests, such as by modifying feature vectors (e.g., text feature vectors) corresponding to the pieces of media content for which relevance feedback is received.
Abstract:
A multimedia object retrieval and annotation system integrates an annotation process with object retrieval and relevance feedback processes. The annotation process annotates multimedia objects, such as digital images, with semantically relevant keywords. The annotation process is performed in background, hidden from the user, as the user conducts normal searches. The annotation process is “semi-automatic” in that it utilizes both keyword-based information retrieval and content-based image retrieval techniques to automatically search for multimedia objects, and then encourages users to provide feedback on the retrieved objects. The user identifies objects as either relevant or irrelevant to the query keywords and based on this feedback, the system automatically annotates the objects with semantically relevant keywords and/or updates associations between the keywords and objects. As the retrieval-feedback-annotation cycle is repeated, the annotation coverage and accuracy of future searches continues to improve.
Abstract:
