Abstract:
Visual aids and associated methods for improving the eye sight of low vision patients are provided. Generally, the devices of the present disclosure address the needs of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and other low vision patients by providing a magnified retinal image while keeping a large visual field of view. Further, the devices of the present disclosure allow direction of the magnified retinal image away from damaged portions of the retina and towards healthy, or at least healthier, portions of the retina. The devices of the present disclosure are also configured for implantation within the eye using minimally invasive surgical procedures. Methods of utilizing the devices of the present disclosure, including surgical procedures, are also provided.
Abstract:
A straw biolubricant includes 70-80% mineral oil, 6-11% straw biomass oil, and 15-20% active agent. The active agent is sorbitol oleate. The straw biolubricant includes a higher contact resistance and lower coefficient of friction in comparison with a conventional lubricant, therefore to reduce the temperature of operating machine parts.
Abstract:
An exemplary implantable sensor includes a housing that generally conforms to a curvature of an anterior chamber of a patient's eye. A sensing device disposed in the housing is configured to detect physiological parameters and transmit a signal representing the physiological parameters. The exemplary sensor may be used to detect physiological parameters such as intraocular pressure, flow velocity of aqueous humor, blood sugar, and blood biochemicals.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to the use of arsenic compounds such as sodium meta arsenite (NaAsO2), arsenic trioxide (As2O3), and arsenic hexoxide (As4O6) or combinations thereof, for the treatment of painful, hyperalgesic and/or inflammatory conditions. The present invention also relates to compositions containing the above arsenic compounds for use in the treatment of pain, inflammation and immunological and autoimmune diseases and disorders.

Abstract:
A posterior chamber phakic lens made from an elastomeric, foldable, highly biocompatible and permeable material. The lens has a generally circular optic and a plurality of integrally formed, filament-like haptics. The haptics project posteriorly from the optic and contain a raised feature or ridge that is sandwiched between the posterior iris and the zonules when implanted in an eye. Such a construction has a low vaulting force under compression, is size insensitive, provides for a stable lens once implanted in the eye, helps to avoid pupillary blockage and allows for improved aqueous flow around the natural lens.
Abstract:
A two-optic accommodative lens system. The first lens has a negative power and is located posteriorly against the posterior capsule. The periphery of the first optic contains a pair of clasps. The second optic is located anteriorly to the first optic and is of a positive power. The peripheral edge of the second optic contains a pair of locking arms that fit into the clasps contained on the periphery of the first optic to lock the second optic onto the first optic, but allow for rotation of the arms within the clasps. Hinge structures on the locking arms allow the second optic to move relative to the first optic along the optical axis of the lens system in reaction to movement of the ciliary muscle.
Abstract:
A management system for managing information of monitor wafers stored in a storage center includes an operation rule module for determining the next manufacturing process for each of the monitor wafers according to its wafer number and wafer condition, an information update module for updating the information of the monitor wafers in a database according to the results made by the operation rule module, an inventory module for computing an inventory quantity of the monitor wafers according to the wafer numbers and the wafer conditions of the monitor wafers, a warning module for checking whether the inventory quantity of the monitor wafers is less than the quantity of the safety stock or not and sending a warning message when the inventory quantity of the monitor wafers is less than the quantity of the safety stock, and a display module for showing the wafer conditions and the inventory quantity of the monitor wafers.
Abstract:
A method of communicating with peripheral devices via a personal computer parallel port having computer data bus lines but no address bus lines comprising connecting the input of a multiplexer to the parallel port, the multiplexer having a data bus input and a databus output and an address bus output, applying address data to the computer data bus, applying an address control signal to the multiplexer and passing the address data only to the address bus output as a result thereof.
Abstract:
A processing unit of a system detects a fault condition associated with the co-processing unit and, upon detection, restores the processing unit using stored user context information. During normal operation, user context information used to execute operation commands are stored by the co-processing unit in memory and maintained after fault detection. A fault condition is detected when at least a portion of the processing unit is rendered non-operational due to a discharging electrostatic event. Fault conditions may be detected by receiving information by the co-processing unit indicative of a fault condition, or by checking at least one memory location associated with processing unit to determine if information stored therein indicates a fault condition. The co-processing unit returns the processing unit to a known, workable state by using the stored user context information to restore the pre-fault detection state information to the memory locations associated with the processing unit.
