摘要： A communication method for implementing a real-time streaming using hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) in a network is provided. Chunked encoding of HTTP is applied so that information can be exchanged between a server and a client while an HTTP request is being progressed. Therefore, bidirectional communication between the client and the server using HTTP is possible without modifying an existing HTTP protocol, and real-time transmission can be implemented.

摘要： Disclosed are a method and apparatus for outputting a user interface (UI) event of a 3rd party device in a home network having a server, a client and a control point, the server and the client joining a UI session by using a remote protocol, the control point controlling the server and the client. The method includes (a) receiving by the control point a UI event message from the 3rd party device not joined in the UI session, the UI event message representing change in a state of the 3rd party device, (b) selecting by the control point a target client for processing a UI event, (c) transmitting by the control point an Out-of-session connect action message (OOSConnect Action) requesting connection setup with the 3rd party device to the selected target client, and (d) transmitting by the target client a permission message for the OOSConnect Action to the control point, thereby setting an Out-of-session connection OOSConnect with the 3rd party device and processing the UI event.

摘要： Provided are an apparatus and method of restoring a remote user interface (RUI) in a Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) environment. In the apparatus and method, an RUI client requests an external storage server to store the state information of the RUI by using a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) object processing a HTTP request without reloading a web page, and restores the original state of the RUI by using the stored state information. Accordingly, it is possible to apply a method of storing and restoring state information of a remote user interface, in a UPnP environment, to a HTTP-based remote protocol model having stateless characteristics which do not allow state information of a remote user interface to be stored.
