Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for improving initialization of sidelink duplication reception in a wireless communication system are disclosed herein. In one method, a User Equipment (UE) receives a first Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) Protocol Data Unit (PDU) on a logical channel associated with a sidelink radio bearer (SLRB). The UE initializes a first state variable based on a partial Reordering_Window and a PDCP Sequence Number (SN) of the first received PDCP PDU, wherein the first state variable indicates the PDCP SN of a last PDCP Service Data Unit (SDU) delivered to the upper layers by a PDCP entity created for the SLRB, and the partial Reordering_Window is less than a Reordering_Window. The UE performs a re-ordering procedure for the first PDCP PDU using the initialized first state variable.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for implementing reference signal transmissions in a wireless communication system. According to one method, the UE receives a downlink transmission burst from a base station in a first unlicensed channel. The UE also receives an information in a second channel, wherein the information defines whether a subframe is an end subframe of the downlink transmission burst in the first unlicensed channel. The UE determines whether or not to receive a control message, data, or a reference signal from a next frame in the first unlicensed channel. The UE receives the control message, data, or the reference signal from the next frame in the first unlicensed channel if the information indicates that the subframe is not the end subframe of the downlink transmission burst. Alternatively, the UE refuses to receive the control message, data, or the reference signal from the next frame in the first unlicensed channel if the information indicates that the subframe is the end subframe of the downlink transmission burst.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses for Sidelink Discontinuous Reception (SL DRX) in a wireless communication system to avoid ambiguity on slot offset calculations on SL DRX. A method for a UE comprises performing a SL communication associated with a destination Identity (ID), having a SL DRX configuration associated with the SL communication, wherein the SL DRX configuration comprises at least an on-duration timer and a DRX cycle, deriving a first offset associated with the SL communication based on the destination ID and the DRX cycle, deriving a second offset associated with the SL communication based on the destination ID and a number of slots per subframe, starting the on-duration timer after a time period determined based on the second offset from the beginning of a subframe, wherein the subframe is determined based on at least the first offset, and monitoring Sidelink Control Information (SCI) when the on-duration timer is running.

Abstract: In an example, a User Equipment (UE) receives and/or detects a transmission of data from a network. The transmission of the data is addressed to a Group Radio Network Temporary Identifier (G-RNTI) for a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) process. In response to receiving and/or detecting the transmission of the data, the UE (i) starts a first HARQ Round Trip Time (RTT) timer associated with the G-RNTI for the HARQ process, and (ii) starts a second HARQ RTT timer associated with a Cell Radio Network Temporary Identifier (C-RNTI) for the HARQ process. The UE starts a multicast retransmission timer for the HARQ process in response to expiry of the first HARQ RTT timer. The UE starts a unicast retransmission timer for the HARQ process in response to expiry of the second HARQ RTT timer. The UE receives and/or detects a first retransmission of the DL data addressed to the G-RNTI for the HARQ process. In response to receiving and/or detecting the first retransmission of the data, the UE (i) stops the multicast retransmission timer, and (ii) stops the unicast retransmission timer.
