Abstract: A resource upgrade predictor can be operable to receive, from a first network node device, traffic information. Based on the traffic information, the resource upgrade predictor can obtain network utilization data related to other network node devices having a similar interference characteristic (e.g., signal-to-noise ratio) to the first network node device. The resource upgrade predictor can use this network utilization data to determine a demand (e.g., demand level, demand point) at which at least a defined value related to a transmission link capacity associated with transmissions between the first network node device and the user equipment, is attained (e.g., a percentage of physical resource block loading). The resource upgrade predictor can also obtain projected demand data associated with a geographic area serviced by the first network node device, and determine, based upon the demand and the projected demand data, a time at which a network resource upgrade related to the first network node device, is to be performed.

Abstract: Wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) devices that are not associated with a specific wireless carrier can be contractually operated as an extension of the specific Wi-Fi carrier. In this case, a display screen of a mobile device, that is currently communicating with the Wi-Fi device as an extension of the carrier, can display the carrier info. The display can be a result of a comparison between an internal mobile device data store and/or an external list that comprises the Wi-Fi devices that are acting as extensions of the carrier for a 5G network.

Abstract: A processing system including at least one processor may collect a first set of time series features relating to requests for a content item at a content distribution node in a communication network, generate a first prediction model based upon the first set of time series features to predict levels of demand for the content item at the content distribution node at future time periods, identify, via the first prediction model, a first time period of the future time periods when a predicted level of demand for the content item exceeds a threshold level of demand, identify a second time period of the future time periods when a predicted level of utilization of the communication network is below a threshold level of utilization, the second time period being prior to the first time period, and transfer the content item to the content distribution node in the second time period.

Abstract: When an access point device is aware of an internet access failure, the access point device can attempt to re-route the baseband content through a different access point for the purpose of using its hard-wired internet connection. An administrative function can allow the access point device to tunnel through the internet service provider (ISP) of another access point device if permission is granted to do so. The permission can be granted beforehand or it can be granted to on the fly. Consequently, if the packets cannot route via the normal, hard-wired path, a message to a secondary transceiver of the access point device can instruct the access point device to find an alternate path via the ISP of the other access point device.

Abstract: A call challenger can receive a user input from a called party identity to opt-in to a call challenge service, and a second user input of a keyword. When the call challenger receives a call directed to a user equipment of the called party identity, the call challenger can prompt the calling party to provide an audible response. In response to a receipt of the audible response, the call challenger can convert the audible response to a text. The call challenger can compare the text with the keyword to determine if there is a sufficient match. In response to the determining the output of the comparing does not satisfy a threshold match score, the call challenger can prevent the call from connecting with the user equipment.

Abstract: Facilitating secure conveyance of location information and other information in advanced networks (e.g., 4G, 5G, and beyond) is provided herein. Operations of a system can comprise transforming, at a chipset level of the device, information indicative of a location of the device into a binary representation of the information indicative of the location of the device. The operations can also comprise embedding the binary representation of the information indicative of the location of the device into a message. Further, the operations can comprise facilitating a transmission of the message and the binary representation of the information indicative of the location of the device to a network device of a communications network.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for enabling access to restricted data using geofences. A system can identify a device associated with restricted data that includes network data that law prohibits the use of for commercial purposes without authorization. The system can determine use parameters associated with the device, each of the use parameters including a device identifier, a geofence, time limits, and an indication of purposes. The system can determine if the device is at a geographic location that satisfies the location that is defined by the geofence, if the time limits associated with the geofence are satisfied, and if a purpose for which the restricted data will be used matches a one of the purposes. If the system determines that the location, time limits, and purposes are satisfied, the system can use the restricted data for the purpose.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for mobile network handling of simultaneous data usage session records. A system can include a network session server that has a processor and a memory storing instructions that configure a processor to perform operations. The operations can include obtaining, from a session probe within a core network device, a raw mobile data set associated with a user equipment. The operations can include determining that the user equipment engages in a simultaneous usage session based on the raw mobile data set. The operations can include identifying targeted domains that are present within the raw mobile data set, and creating a raw session record for each of the targeted domains associated with the simultaneous usage session.
