摘要: A method and apparatus that allows correlations between a selected parameter and the error in a pseudo range measurement to be exploited. A database is established in which the amount of error estimated for particular pseudo range measurements to a beacon is maintained. Clusters are defined. Each cluster is associated with a range of values for the selected parameter. Pseudo range measurements are then associated with a particular cluster based upon the value of the selected parameter at the time (or proximate to the time) the pseudo range measurement was taken. As more estimates of the pseudo range measurements are made, the size of the clusters (i.e., the range of values of the selected parameter) can be reduced. Due to the correlation between the selected parameter and the errors in the pseudo range measurements, reducing the size of the clusters reduces the variance of the error estimates. The mean value of the error estimates is used to correct the error in future pseudo range measurements.

摘要: Techniques for efficiently configuring and reconfiguring calls using a set of default configurations and differential encoding are described. At the network side, a configuration to use for communication with a wireless device is initially selected. A default configuration is identified from among a set of default configurations. The differences, if any, between the selected configuration and the default configuration are ascertained. An identity for the default configuration and the differences, if any, are sent to the wireless device to convey the selected configuration. At the wireless device, the message containing the identity for the default configuration is initially received. The default configuration is obtained from a memory based on the identity. A determination is made whether the message contains differences between the default configuration and the selected configuration. Values for the default configuration are replaced with the differences, if any, sent in the message.

摘要: Methods and Systems are disclosed for use in a communication system 200 to selectively delay transmitting a second negative acknowledgement (NAK) after an initial NAK has already been sent requesting retransmission of a corrupted packet. The receiving entity 210 initiates a NAK prohibit timer 641 associated with a specific NAK 631 which prevents status reports to transmitting entity 220 from including a retransmission of the specific NAK until the timer expires. Use of the NAK prohibit timer 641 reduces the likelihood of spurious retransmissions from the transmitting entity 220 caused by a second NAK from the receiving entity 210 when the retransmission process has already been initiated.

摘要: Transmission techniques are provided that improve service continuity and reduce interruptions in delivery of content that can be caused by transitions that occur when the User Equipment (UE) moves from one cell to the other, or when the delivery of content changes from a Point-to-Point (PTP) connection to a Point-to-Multipoint (PTM) connection in the same serving cell, and vice-versa. Such transmission techniques enable seamless delivery of content across cell borders and/or between different transmission schemes such as Point-to-Multipoint (PTM) and Point-to-Point (PTP). Mechanisms for adjusting different streams and for recovering content from each data block during such transitions are also provided so that data is not lost during a transition. In addition, mechanisms for realigning data during decoding at a receiving terminal are also provided.

摘要: Techniques to time-share a common channelization code among multiple terminals for compressed mode transmissions. Each terminal is initially assigned a respective channelization code used to channelize data transmitted in non-compressed frames for the terminal. A common channelization code used to channelize data transmitted in compressed frames for the terminals is also selected. Each compressed frame includes one or more compressed transmissions and all or a portion of a transmission gap. The compressed frames for the terminals are scheduled such that the compressed transmissions for the compressed frames do not overlap. Thereafter, non-compressed frames for each terminal are channelized with the channelization code assigned to the terminal, and compressed frames for the terminals are channelized with the common channelization code. The compressed frames may be scheduled to be (1) non-overlapping at their frame boundaries, (2) non-overlaping with respect to the compressed transmissions, and/or (3) interlaced.
