Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for compliance lifecycle management for cloud-based resources are disclosed. A selection is received of a compliance pack from a plurality of compliance packs. The compliance pack comprises a plurality of rules associated with policy compliance. The compliance pack is selected from the plurality of compliance packs via a user interface. The selection is associated with one or more resources hosted in one or more provider networks. An evaluation is performed of compliance of the one or more resources with respect to the plurality of rules of the compliance pack. Data describing the evaluation is generated and displayed. The data comprises an aggregate compliance status for at least one of the one or more resources, and the aggregate compliance status represents an aggregate compliance with the plurality of rules.

Abstract: A processor configured to reduce the amount of time necessary for a mobile device to resume from a hibernation state is described. While in the hibernation state, power to all components of a mobile, except a motion sensor, may be powered off. The processor, upon receiving a signal from a wakeup sensor, causes the mobile device to initiate a transition from the hibernation mode to an awake mode. A validation sensor on the mobile device detects a user contact with the mobile device or user proximity with respect to the mobile device. Upon receiving a validation signal confirming validation of the transition from the hibernation state to the awake state, the processor resumes the transition to the awake mode. In the awake mode the mobile device may detect user input indicative of activating the mobile device. Upon receiving a signal indicating user input to activate the device, the processor may cause the device to become fully active, and ready for user interaction.

Abstract: Techniques for adjusting a brightness of a front that lights a display of an electronic device in response to determining that the display is going to perform an update. Typically, page updates on certain types of displays, such as electronic paper displays, result in a relatively large but rapid change in brightness. Therefore, by increasing the brightness during the relatively dark portion of the update (e.g., when some, a majority, or all of the pixels are in the black state) and then decreasing the brightness back to its initial state upon completion of the update, the overall brightness perceived by the user remains more uniform. Increasing the uniformity of this perceived brightness in turn decreases the jarring affect of the flashing update and increases the experience of the user.

Abstract: Techniques are presented for adjusting a brightness of a front light that illuminates a display of an electronic device. Typically, page updates on certain types of displays, such as electronic paper displays, result in a relatively large but rapid change in brightness. Therefore, by adjusting the brightness of the front light during the update (e.g., when some, a majority, or all of the pixels are in the white state) and then adjusting the brightness back to another state upon or near completion of the update, the overall brightness perceived by the user remains more uniform. Increasing the uniformity of this perceived brightness in turn decreases the jarring effect of an update and increases the experience of the user.

Abstract: This disclosure describes electronic devices that include displays for rendering content, touch sensors disposed beneath the displays for detecting touch inputs, and antiglare components for reducing glare caused by ambient light. In some embodiments, the displays include a single transparent substrate, a thin film transistor array connected to a bottom surface of the transparent substrate, a conductive substrate, and a front plane laminate connected to the conductive substrate. In such embodiments, the front plane laminate is connected to the thin film transistor array, and the array comprises a plurality of transparent electrodes. This disclosure also describes techniques for manufacturing displays utilized with electronic devices.
