Abstract:
Processes for removing carbon disulfide from product streams containing a sulfide compound are performed by contacting the product stream with an alkanolamine and converting the carbon disulfide to a higher boiling point product, thereby reducing or eliminating carbon disulfide from the product stream. Subsequent removal of the higher boiling point product via distillation can lead to a purified sulfide stream with high purity.
Abstract:
Disclosed are processes for purifying feed streams containing hydrogen sulfide and sulfur-containing impurities by removing sulfur-containing impurities, such as elemental sulfur and polysulfanes, using solid catalytic sorbents. Also disclosed are processes for producing hydrogen sulfide.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses high pressure flow reactor vessels and associated systems. Also disclosed are processes for producing thiol compounds and sulfide compounds utilizing these flow reactor vessels.
Abstract:
A composition comprising polysulfides, wherein at least about 50 wt. % of the polysulfides are branched C20 to C60 polysulfides represented by general formula R15S1—[S]n—S2R16 wherein R15 and R16 are each independently a branched C10 to C30 alkyl group and wherein n is an integer from 1 to 10. A process of producing a polysulfides crude product comprising one or more branched C20 to C60 polysulfides comprising: (A) reacting a feedstock comprising one or more branched C10 to C30 mercaptans and sulfur in the presence of a catalyst and (B) collecting the polysulfides crude product.
