An azasteroid mimic or an intermediate for the preparation of an azasteroid and azasteroid mimic is formed via an oxocycloalkenyl isoxazolium anhydrobase and its dimer. The dimer can be used to form mono- and dihydrazones, which can be an azasteroid mimic or an intermediate for the preparation of an azasteroid and azasteroid mimic. A method of preparation of the dimer and the azasteroid mimic or an intermediate for the preparation of an azasteroid and azasteroid mimic occurs with hydrazonation and, optionally, a subsequent dehydrazonation. The dimer can be converted by inserting a nitrogen atom into the six membered ring of to a C-17 position cyclohexenone moiety of the dimer to yield a reduced tetrazolo[1,5-a]azepin-8-yl group. A subsequent hydrozone formation at a benzylic ketone can be carried out to generate an azasteroid mimic with a (triazol-4-yl)imino substituent. Monohydrazones can be converted to their thione equivalents.

The present invention relates to a dynamic chemical network that mimics the transfer of information and ultimately produces a chemical response, for example a readable signal. More specifically, the invention discloses a dynamic system able to selectively sense a biologically-relevant analyte, such as cysteine, in its reduced or its oxidized form (cystine) in aqueous media and in a biofluid (such as urine) for diagnostic application. Due to this property, said dynamic system is useful for the detection of cysteine or its derivatives in biological fluids such as urine.

A resin composition for an optical material contains a thiol compound and an isocyanate compound. The thiol compound includes a trithiol compound and a tetrathiol compound, and based on 100% of the total mole equivalent of the thiol group of the thiol compound, the total mole equivalent of the thiol group of the trithiol compound is fro 85% to 95%, and the total mole equivalent of the thiol group of the tetrathiol compound is from 5% to 15%. The isocyanate compound includes dicyclohexylmethane diisocyanate, and based on 100% of the total mole equivalent of the isocyanate group of the isocyanate compound, the total mole equivalent of the isocyanate group of the dicyclohexylmethane diisocyanate is from 90% to 100%.
