    Abstract: Methods and kits for subcutaneous defibrillator implantation. In various examples, two introducer tools each having a sheath are used during an implantation procedure to obviate the need for pulling a lead using a suture. The elimination of the suture-based pulling steps may reduce procedure time. A kit having two introducer tool and corresponding sheaths is also disclosed.

    Abstract: A catheter for delivering a medical electrical lead to a bundle of His from within a right atrium of a heart. The catheter includes a straight portion and a hook portion projecting from a distal end of the straight portion. The hook portion includes a first curved portion, a second curved portion, and a third curved portion. The straight portion and the first curved portion define a plane. The second curved portion extends from a distal end of the first curved portion. The second curved portion curves away from the plane. The third curved portion extends from a distal end of the second curved portion. The third curved portion curves toward the plane. The catheter forms a lumen extending from a proximal end of the straight portion to an opening at a distal end of the third curved portion.

    Abstract: A medical device lead includes a tubular conductive element disposed over a lead body. The tubular conductive element includes at least one segment having one or more kerfs formed radially therethrough in a predetermined configuration so as to affect at least one electrical property, e.g., electrical impedance, of the segment. The segment may form a shocking conductor of the medical device lead. The tubular conductive element may alternatively include proximal, intermediate and distal segments each having one or more kerfs formed radially therethrough, where the one or more kerfs in each of the proximal and intermediate segments are configured so that these segments each have a higher electrical impedance than the distal segment. A layer of insulative material is disposed over the proximal and intermediate segments, so that the proximal and intermediate segments of the tubular conductive element are operable to filter electromagnetic energy from an external source.

    Abstract: A tool for implanting a medical lead includes a body having distal region including a distal end, a proximal region including a proximal end, a central axis extending from the distal end to the proximal end, and a midpoint between the distal end and the proximal end. The distal region includes a rounded tip, and a distal lip surrounding a distal opening leading to a distal cavity dimensioned to receive and frictionally engage a connector component of the implantable lead. The proximal region includes a proximal lip surrounding a proximal opening leading to a proximal cavity. A chamber is located between the distal cavity and the proximal cavity. The tool includes a first window. A pair of resilient arms define at least a portion of the chamber and configured to frictionally engage a terminal pin of the implantable lead. The first window, chamber, and pair of resilient arms are located distal of the midpoint.
