摘要： The present invention is directed towards a wound golf ball that includes a wound core surrounded with a cover material. The wound core is formed of a fluid-filled or solid center, and at least one wound layer segment surrounding the center. The wound layer segment includes a first untreated portion, a first impregnated portion, a second untreated portion and a second impregnated portion. The first impregnated portion is impregnated with a first material, such as latex. In one embodiment, the wound layer segment is formed of two layers, each having an untreated and an impregnated portion. Thus, the multi-layered wound layer segment has an impregnated portion between two untreated portions.

摘要： The invention provides a method for making a golf ball. Two cups are molded from an elastomer separately from an inner sphere. In one embodiment of the method, the cups are molded on both sides of a single mold part with hemispherical protrusions that form cavities in the cups. An inner sphere is placed within the cavities, and the cups are joined, by preferably crosslinking the cups together or applying adhesive there between. To retain the characterisitics of the cup material where the cups meet, an embodiment of the cups can be formed with nonplanar mating surfaces that mesh with each other. The nonplanar mating surfaces preferably have a pattern that is symmetrical about the inner sphere, such as concentric ridges, for example a tongue and a groove.

摘要： The present invention relates to golf balls having improved adhesion between adjacent layers, as well as methods for making golf balls having such improved adhesion. In particular, the golf balls of the present invention comprise a cover, a core and optionally one or more intermediate layers disposed between the cover and the core, wherein the outer surface of the core, an intermediate layer(s) or both the core and the intermediate layers has a finely textured surface profile integrally molded in the outer surface thereof. The finely textured surface profile comprises a plurality of peaks having a maximum depth of about 2 mils to about 15 mils.
