    Abstract: A system and a method to dynamically reprovision network devices may include a first network device configured to reprovision a second network device in accordance with a specific location of the second network device in a predefined area. The first network device may be configured to sense the second device at the specific location in the predefined area, identify reprovisioning parameters associated with the specific location, and provide the reprovisioning parameters to the second network device. In turn, the second network device may be configured to perform one or more roles associated with the specific location in the predefined area based at least in part upon information in the reprovisioning parameters.

    Abstract: A system and method are provided for allocating bandwidth and metering data flows within a wireless mesh-tree network. The network includes a wireless LAN controller (WLC), a root access point (RAP), and mesh access points (MAPs), which are arranged in respective hop levels corresponding to the number of links a given MAP is removed from the RAP. The WLC allocates available data rates (ADRs) to the respective MAPs, and each MAP then apportions its ADR among various origination types of data flowing through the given MAP (e.g., backhaul, ethernet-bridged, and client data types). The MAPs can use a token bucket filter (TBF)-like mechanism to enforce this apportionment. WiFi multi-media (WMM) based access classes can be used to shape the data flows (e.g., an NC access class assigned to topology maintenance traffic ensures it is fed directly into a WMM queue).

    Abstract: A wireless infrastructure that communicates with a DHCP server and a wireless client that rotates its MAC address performs a method including: upon receiving, from the wireless client, a first request with a first MAC address, creating a session context including the first MAC address and a stable identifier, and relaying the first request to the DHCP server; relaying, from the DHCP server to the wireless client, a first DHCP reply that includes an Internet Protocol (IP) address bound to the stable identifier; upon receiving, from the wireless client, a second request with the IP address and a second MAC address, merging the second MAC address and the IP address into the session context, and relaying, to the DHCP server, the second request including the stable identifier; and relaying, from the DHCP server to the wireless client, a second DHCP reply including the IP address bound to the stable identifier.
