Abstract: The invention comprises phenyl tetra-(trialkylsilyl) cyclohexenes and tertiary butyl tetra-(trialkylsily) cyclohexenes in which each alkyl group contains 1 to 7 carbon atoms. They are prepared by reacting (1) diphenyl or tertiary butylbenzene, (2) sodium or lithium and (3) a trialkylchlorosilane in (4) tetrahydrofuran, 1,2-dimethoxyethane, or 2-methoxyethyl ether. A typical example (1) describes the preparation of phenyl tetra (trimethylsilyl) cyclohexene.
