Abstract:
A process cartridge is detachably mountable to a main assembly of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus. The main assembly includes an output contact movable between electrical connecting and retracted positions, a displaceable member for moving the output contact, and an elastic function member for elastically urging the displaceable member to urge the output contact toward the retracted position. The cartridge includes an electrophotographic photosensitive drum, a process device actable on the drum, and a movable operation member engageable with a main-assembly fixed engageable member and with the displaceable member to move the output contact from the retracted to the electrical connecting position against the bias of the elastic function member, in interrelation with the movement of the displaceable member, after the engagement with the fixed engageable member when the cartridge is inserted into the main assembly. The cartridge also includes an input electrical contact.
Abstract:
Aspects of the invention provide a method, in a semiconductor device, such as a thin film transistor, a technology capable of preventing or reducing the electric field concentration at the edge section of the semiconductor film to enhance the reliability. The method of manufacturing a semiconductor device according to the invention can include a first step of forming a semiconductor film discretely on an insulation substrate, a second step of covering the semiconductor film including an edge section of the semiconductor film with a first insulation film, a third step of opening the first insulation film above the semiconductor film excluding the edge section of the semiconductor film, a fourth step of forming a second insulation film thinner than the first insulation film on the semiconductor film corresponding to at least the opening of the first insulation film, and a fifth step of forming an electrode wiring film on the second insulation film.
Abstract:
A process cartridge detachably mountable to a main assembly of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, includes a developer discharging member; a cartridge positioning portion for engagement with a main assembly positioning portion provided in the main assembly when the cartridge is mounted to the main assembly; a photosensitive member driving force receiving portion for receiving a driving force for rotating the photosensitive member from the main assembly when the cartridge is mounted to the main assembly; and a discharging member driving force receiving portion for receiving a driving force for rotating the developer discharging member from the main assembly when the cartridge is mounted to the main assembly. The rotational directions of the photosensitive member driving force receiving portion and the discharging member driving force receiving portion are the same, and the rotation directions are such that a rotation moment is produced so as to contact the cartridge positioning portion to a lower surface of the main assembly positioning portion of the apparatus.
Abstract:
A developer container for containing a developer includes a detecting member for detecting a developer amount having an electrode member having a pair of input-side and output-side electrodes formed in parallel and in one plane at a predetermined interval and adapted to detect the capacitance between the electrodes, a measurement-side electrode that is in contact with the developer, and a reference electrode that is out of contact with the developer, the detecting member being provided on a side surface of the developer container. The container also includes a developer removing member for removing developer adhering to a detection surface of the detecting member, the developer removing member being attached to the developer conveying member and in contact with the detection surface of the detecting member so as to remove developer on the detection surface of the detecting member. The container also includes a developer conveying member for conveying the developer toward a developer bearing member, and an acting member acting by a torque of the developer removing member such that the developer removing member is held in contact with the detection surface in a predetermined orientation.
Abstract:
A plug-in data cartridge for a printer or a similar device. The cartridge contains an addressable memory and an address generator. In response to a designation of a starting address, the address generator in the cartridge addresses a sequence of memory locations of the memory which is also in the cartridge so that the data can be supplied to the printer. Because only a few starting addresses need to be designated, a low number of address lines is needed, and the number of pins for plugging in the cartridge can be reduced.
