Abstract:
A double-row angular contact ball bearing is provided with inner and outer rings, balls in two rows, a cage for holding the balls, and non-contact sealing devices made of a substantially disc-like member. Radial outer end portions of a metallic sealing device are respectively fit and swaged into grooves arranged at both axial end portions of the outer ring's inner circumferential surface. The ratio Ts/Tr is equal to or lower than 0.07, where Ts is the sealing device thickness and Tr is the outer ring thickness at the bottom portion of the groove. In addition, the ball diameter is equal to or greater than 75% of a half a bearing width to equal to or greater than 83% thereof. Furthermore, an axial width Tc of the radial outer end portion having a substantially U-shape is equal to or smaller than 2.7 mm.

Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for estimating, within a short time, the life of a cable insulating coating material containing an antioxidant in a suitable concentration based on the rate of decrease of the antioxidant and on the critical concentration of the antioxidant at which oxidative degradation rapidly proceeds. The method tests the coating material to examine its life, the coating material including a base polymer, and an antioxidant having a functional group suppressing an oxidative deteriorative reaction of the base polymer. The method includes performing a thermal degradation test on the coating material; determining the degradation levels and degradation rates of the coating material at two or more time points in the thermal degradation test, based on the ratio of the absorbance of the functional group of the antioxidant to the absorbance of the base polymer; and thereby evaluating the life of the coating material.

Abstract:
A process cartridge is detachably mountable to a main assembly of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus. The main assembly includes an output contact movable between electrical connecting and retracted positions, a displaceable member for moving the output contact, and an elastic function member for elastically urging the displaceable member to urge the output contact toward the retracted position. The cartridge includes an electrophotographic photosensitive drum, a process device actable on the drum, and a movable operation member engageable with a main-assembly fixed engageable member and with the displaceable member to move the output contact from the retracted to the electrical connecting position against the bias of the elastic function member, in interrelation with the movement of the displaceable member, after the engagement with the fixed engageable member when the cartridge is inserted into the main assembly. The cartridge also includes an input electrical contact.
Abstract:
An electrophotographic image forming apparatus is provided for forming an image on a recording material, to which a unit is detachably mountable. The apparatus is transportable with the unit mounted thereto. The apparatus includes (i) a movable member; (ii) a main assembly electrical contact provided on the movable member; (iii) a mounting member demountably mounting the unit; (iv) a unit mounted to the mounting member. The unit has a unit electrical contact electrically contactable to the main assembly electrical contact during image formation on the recording material; and (v) a separating member for separating the main assembly electrical contact and the unit electrical contact from each other by contacting the movable member and the unit to provide a gap between the main assembly electrical contact and the unit electrical contact when the apparatus is transported with the unit mounted to the apparatus.
Abstract:
The invention provides a method for fabricating a transistor in which the bulk characteristics of the gate insulating film and the interface characteristics can be simultaneously improved by a low-temperature process. The method can include the step of forming a semiconductor film on a substrate, the step of forming a gate insulating film on the semiconductor film by depositing a silicon oxide film by a diode parallel plate plasma enhanced CVD process using at least TEOS and oxygen as source materials, the step of forming a metal film, which accelerates the decomposition of gases permeated into the gate insulating film, on the gate insulating film, and the step of performing low-temperature heat treatment on the gate insulating film. Accordingly, it is possible to form high-quality gate insulating film having both satisfactory bulk and interface characteristics by a low temperature process.
Abstract:
In a detection unit, a measurement electrode member is arranged at a position where it contacts a developer, and has an input electrode for receiving a voltage from an apparatus main body and an output electrode for outputting an electrical signal in accordance with an electrostatic capacitance generated upon application of the voltage. A reference electrode member is arranged at a position where it does not contact the developer, and has an input electrode for receiving a voltage from the apparatus main body and an output electrode for outputting an electrical signal in accordance with an electrostatic capacitance generated upon application of the voltage. The measurement electrode member is adhered to an adhesion member. A lid member is coupled to the adhesion member and covers the reference electrode member. An engaging portion engages with a vessel positioning portion attached to the developer vessel, and positions the detection unit with respect to the developer vessel. A developer vessel, process cartridge, developing cartridge, and electrophotographic image forming apparatus are also disclosed.
