摘要： Hair care products represent a world-wide multi-billion dollar industry. Pre-formed polymers are commonly used in a variety of hair care products including shampoos, conditioners, gels, and hair sprays. The present invention provides technology for polymerizing monomers on hair in situ to produce desired hair characteristics. This eliminates the solubility and application issues found with some polymers. The polymerization of monomers on hair is typically initiated using a thermal or photoinitiatied free radical initiator. In certain embodiments, the monomers are fluorinated thereby producing a fluorinated polymer on the hair upon polymerization. The invention provides monomers, initiators, methods, and kits for use in treating hair with polymers.

摘要： A patient alignment system for a radiation therapy system. The alignment system includes multiple external measurement devices which obtain position measurements of components of the radiation therapy system which are movable and/or are subject to flex or other positional variations. The alignment system employs the external measurements to provide corrective positioning feedback to more precisely register the patient and align them with a radiation beam. The alignment system can be provided as an integral part of a radiation therapy system or can be added as an upgrade to existing radiation therapy systems.

A primary motor is coupled to a primary input shaft via a clutch, a variable-speed secondary motor is directly coupled to a secondary input shaft, and the header unit coupled to a header output shaft. A planetary gear-train couples the primary input shaft, the secondary input shaft, and the header output shaft to each other. A primary brake is coupled to the primary input shaft, and a secondary brake coupled to the secondary input shaft. A control circuit is employed to command the operation of the clutch, the secondary motor, the primary brake, and the secondary brake in response to operator commands.

The rail can be selectively installed with infinite adjustability both vertically and rotationally. Each post includes an outer tube and an inner tube with reinforcing ribs extending between the two. To secure the post to a floor, a floor-mounted anchor extends up into the inner tube. The anchor and inner tube are preferably rectangular to restrict relative rotation between the post and the anchor. When two or more rails are installed between two posts, the two rails can be interlocked, or the rails can be spaced apart to support a spacer therebetween. In some cases, the spacer is a sign or a fabric mesh.

摘要： A vertically moving door of a truck loading dock includes a disconnectable horizontal joint that provides the door with a barrier position, wherein an upper section of the door can be separated from a lower section to create a ventilation area between the two. The ventilation area allows fresh outside air to enter the building, while the lower section remains at its lowermost position for safety and security. More specifically, the lower section serves as a barrier that helps prevent someone or something from accidentally falling through the doorway when a truck is not present at the dock. A lightweight, resilient strap can be attached to the lower section of the door to help protect that section from an otherwise damaging impact. A lattice of straps or a mesh can be installed across the ventilation area to help secure the building against theft.

摘要： In order to provide a golf ball with a water immersion indicator, a golf ball with indicia or a particular recognizable color is overlain with an opacification layer that provides a mask over the indicia or the colored ball until such time as the ball has been immersed in water for a predetermined period of time affecting the ball's performance. The opacification layer when removed or otherwise made transparent, while providing for a change in the appearance of the golf ball upon water immersion, does not need to have a layer or indicia which changes color in reaction to the infusion of water. Rather the opacification layer is either removed or made transparent to expose an underlying colored surface or a surface bearing pre-determined indicia, thus to alter the appearance of the ball when it has been immersed in water for a period of time which affects golf ball properties. The subject system provides an easy way to make indicia visible upon water immersion since one does not have to create the indicia in response to water activation, but rather uncover already-printed indicia due to the removal or transparency of the opacification layer. Opacification reduction or elimination is accomplished through a number of physical processes involving a water-activated binder and either insoluble pigment particles, effervescing bubbles, the use of transparent oils, agglomeration or the complete or partial removal of the opacification layer.
