    摘要: In integrated circuit fabrication, an etch is used that has a lateral component. For example, the etch may be isotropic. Before the isotropic etch of a layer (160), another etch of the same layer is performed. This other etch can be anisotropic. This etch attacks a portion (160X2) of the layer adjacent to the feature to be formed by the isotropic etch. That portion is entirely or partially removed by the anisotropic etch. Then the isotropic etch mask (420) is formed to extend beyond the feature over the location of the portion subjected to the anisotropic etch. If that portion was removed entirely, then the isotropic etch mask may completely seal off the feature to be formed on the side of that portion, so the lateral etching will not occur. If that portion was removed only partially, then the lateral undercut will be impeded because the passage to the feature under the isotropic etch mask will be narrowed.

    摘要: A disposable, securely retained dental angle is provided. The angle includes a one-piece hollow housing having a short leg at its front end, which is angled with respect to the long leg. Both the short and long legs have a through bore. The short leg has an aperture, which is connected to the bore of the long leg to allow insertion of a driving shaft through the short leg of the angle. A driven rotor is inserted in the short leg. A horse-shoe-like snap rotor retainer fits within the short leg over the driven rotor to retain the driven rotor in the angle. A paw-like or, alternately, a horse-shoe-like locking means fits within the long leg over the driving shaft to lock the driving shaft in the angle and to retain the angle together. In one embodiment, a pair of splinters on the driven rotor provides the function to retain the rubber prophy cup firmly while the driven rotor is in operation.

    摘要: One embodiment of a piezoelectric generator which uses fibrous piezoelectric sensors to harness energy from sound and vibrations. These sensors will be fitted into a multilayered base consisting of a sound reflecting layer and alternating layers of conductive and nonconductive materials. The sound reflecting layer will serve to increase energy generation efficiency when multiple sheets of the apparatus is used, and the alternating layers of conductive and nonconductive materials will collect electricity generated from the piezoelectric sensors. Once collected, this electricity will then be used to power appliances or be stored in a battery for future use. Other embodiments are described and shown.

    摘要: A disposable dental angle with a housing consisting of two sections is provided. The vertical aperture of the head section of the housing allows insertion of a driven rotor such that the driven rotor is properly positioned. The horizontal aperture of the tail section of the housing allows insertion of a driving shaft such that the driving shaft is properly positioned. The front stepped end of the tail section engages the horizontal aperture of the head section firmly such that the two sections form a right angle. This ensures that the gear of the driven rotor is properly coupled to the matching gear of the driving shaft. Hence the driving shaft transfers the rotation from a dental tool to the driven rotor for the purpose of tooth cleaning using a cleaning cup.

    摘要: Substrate isolation trench (224) are formed in a semiconductor substrate (120). Dopant (e.g. boron) is implanted into the trench sidewalls by ion implantation to suppress the current leakage along the sidewalls. During the ion implantation, the transistor gate dielectric (520) faces the ion stream, but damage to the gate dielectric is annealed in subsequent thermal steps. In some embodiments, the dopant implantation is an angled implant. The implant is performed from the opposite sides of the wafer, and thus from the opposite sides of each active area. Each active area includes a region implanted from one side and a region implanted from the opposite side. The two regions overlap to facilitate threshold voltage adjustment.
