Abstract:
In various embodiments, cylinder assemblies are coupled in series pneumatically, thereby reducing a range of force produced by or acting on the cylinder assemblies during expansion or compression of a gas.
Abstract:
A method for preventing co-channel operation with a radar system includes the steps of setting a state of a first communication channel to active, connecting to a first wireless access point on the first communication channel, passively scanning at least a second communication channel for communication from a second wireless access point, setting a state of the second channel to active if frames are received on the second channel, determining whether an elapsed time since frames were received on at least one of the first channel and the second channel has exceed a predefined value, and in response to the predefined value being exceeded for at least one of the first channel and the second channel, setting the state of a corresponding one of the first channel and the second channel to passive.
Abstract:
A soft plastic articulating fishing lure includes a head and a plurality of body sections integrally molded with hinge sections. The hinge sections are preferably smaller in height than the respective body sections they join to promote increased swimming action at lower pull speed. Central body sections are preferably molded with relatively rounded back and relatively flatter front to promote water flow to effect swim-like movement of the lure. When fished, the lure articulates at the hinge joints only. In one embodiment, the head portion includes a molded slot, and a weighted insert is provided therein defining eyes for fishing line and hook, and a weights for lure control. In another embodiment, an insert with hook is provided within a slot in the head of the head and the hook is caused to rotate upwards out of the recess and into the mouth of the fish to hook the fish.
Abstract:
A disc brake assembly for a vehicle having a caliper mounted to a non-rotating structure of the vehicle and a housing mounted to a rotating structure of the vehicle fixedly connected to a rotor within the housing. A pressure plate and a pair of annular brake discs on each side of the rotor and extending parallel to the rotor are disposed within the housing and mounted to the caliper for axial movement into the pressure plate. At least one annular brake disc is axially moveable by a hydraulically or pneumatically urged annular piston disposed in caliper.
Abstract:
A wireless two-way communications apparatus (700) having a radio resource manager (706) is configured and arranged to effect one or more modes of operation (203, 204, 206, and 207) as a function, at least in part, of whether the apparatus is presently operating in a power saving mode of operation (201) and/or is presently supporting an active plesiochronous communication session (202 and 205). Pursuant to one approach, when the apparatus is operating in a power saving mode of operation and presently supports such a communication session and when the apparatus further determines (301) that a wireless access point beacon or supplemental beacon is at least largely coincident with a scheduled active window of that communication session, the apparatus can determine (302) whether to facilitate rescheduling a next monitoring of the beacon or supplemental beacon and/or altering the scheduled active window itself to thereby render the beacon or supplemental beacon monitorable by the apparatus.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for filtering wagering game content are described herein. In one embodiment, the wagering game system includes a wagering game content filter to receive wagering game content over a communications network and to authenticate the wagering game content. The wagering game system can also include a memory unit to receive the wagering game content after the wagering game content filter has authenticated the wagering game content. The wagering game system can also include a processor to fetch the wagering game content from the memory unit and to conduct a wagering game based on the wagering game content.
Abstract:
An Access Point (AP) receives a first set of timing information comprising timing information for at least one neighboring AP and conveys, to a user equipment (UE), a second set of timing information comprising timing information for the at least one neighboring AP, wherein the second set of timing information is derived from the first set of timing information. Based on the second set of timing information, the UE is able to determine a time to scan the at least one neighboring AP. In various embodiments of the present invention, the AP may receive the first set of timing information from another UE or may receive the timing information without the involvement of the another UE, for example, via a network interconnecting the APs or by monitoring an air interface of the at least one neighboring AP.
Abstract:
A system and method switches between an active call and a call on hold when handing off a mobile station (204) from a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) (202). A Handover Starting message is received from a mobile station. The Handover Starting message includes at least one first identifier. A Notification message is also received. The Notification message includes a second identifier. The at least one first identifier is compared to the second identifier and a handover of the mobile station (204) proceeds when a match is determined. Subsequently, the mobile station (204) switches from an active call to a call on hold.
Abstract:
In the present invention, the subscriber unit (200) obtains a set of access point identifiers and measurement opportunity information for each access point identifier. A first measurement is performed on a first access point identified from the set of access point identifiers. A current timer value is determined after completing the step of performing, and a second access point identified from the set of access point identifiers in which to perform a second measurement is selected. Selecting the second access point is based on at least the measurement opportunity information for the second access point in relation to the current timer value.
Abstract:
The invention provides an enhanced passive scanning method for a wireless local area network, including the steps of transmitting at least one of a beacon signal or a gratuitous probe response in a WLAN channel by an access point. The gratuitous probe response is a supplemental beacon signal that is transmitted at intervals between the occurrence of regular beacon signals, but contains only essential information to allow mobile station manage roaming and timing.
