    Abstract: A synchronous rotating electric machine includes an armature and a rotor. The armature has an armature coil wound on an armature core. The rotor has permanent magnets embedded in a rotor core so as to be spaced from one another in a circumferential direction of the rotor core. The rotor has a structure such that: the rotor core has yoke portions each of which is formed between one circumferentially-adjacent pair of the permanent magnets; and all of the permanent magnets are magnetized in the same magnetization direction along the circumferential direction of the rotor core so that for each circumferentially-facing pair of circumferential side surfaces of the permanent magnets, the polarities of the circumferential side surfaces of the circumferentially-facing pair are opposite to each other. With the above structure, flow of magnetic flux generated by the permanent magnets changes depending on whether electric current is flowing in the armature coil.

    Abstract: A double-stator rotating electric machine includes a rotor, an outer stator having an outer multi-phase coil wound thereon, and an inner stator having an inner multi-phase coil wound thereon. Each corresponding pair of phase windings of the outer and inner multi-phase coils are formed of at least one common electric conductor wire. The electric conductor wire includes a bridging portion that bridges the corresponding pair of phase windings of the outer and inner multi-phase coils across the rotor. The bridging portion extends obliquely with respect to both radial and circumferential directions of the rotor so that radially outer and radially inner ends of the bridging portion, which are respectively connected to the corresponding pair of phase windings of the outer and inner multi-phase coils, are circumferentially offset from each other by an offset angle θ. The offset angle θ is greater than 0° and less than 180° in electrical angle.

The rotor core includes annular bodies that are stacked in a stacking direction and each formed of core segments arranged along a circumferential direction. The number of the core segments in each of the annular bodies is set based on k, where k is the number of magnetic poles formed by the permanent magnets. The rotor core has n through-holes, where n≧k. The rotor further includes n fixing members each of which extends in the stacking direction through one corresponding through-hole of the rotor core.     Abstract: A dual-rotor electric rotating machine includes a stator and first and second rotors that are arranged with the stator interposed therebetween. The stator includes a stator core, at least one stator winding and a stator core support. The at least one stator winding is formed of a plurality of electric conductor segments each of which is substantially U-shaped to have a base and a pair of end portions. The electric conductor segments are received in slots of the stator core so that the end portions of the electric conductor segments are located on the same side of the stator core as the stator core support and the bases of the electric conductor segments are located on the opposite side of the stator core to the stator core support.     Abstract: A double-stator motor of an example embodiment includes: an annular rotor connected to a rotary shaft and integrally rotates with the rotary shaft, an inner stator arranged radially inward of the rotor, and an outer stator arranged radially outward of the rotor. The rotor includes a plurality of segments annularly arranged in the circumferential direction, spaced apart from each other by a predetermined distance, and a plurality of permanent magnets each interposed between circumferentially adjacent segments, the permanent magnets being alternately magnetized in the circumferentially opposite direction. The rotor, the inner stator and the outer stator have the same number of poles. The inner and outer stator windings of the inner and outer stators, respectively, are connected so that their phases are reversed to each other. Thus, the magnetic fields generated by the magnetomotive forces of the inner and outer stators are applied to specific segments in parallel.
