    摘要: An information processing apparatus having a resume function which can maintain the security even when a plurality of users commonly use the apparatus. A work state at a power-off time of the apparatus is preserved together with a work state name including a user's ID in a different area in a plurality of preservation areas for resume function on a main memory for each user. When a power source is again turned on, data in the preservation area corresponding to the user's ID is used to reproduce the work state of the user at the power-off time. The work preservation areas can be provided on a file server apparatus in a network not needing battery back-up. When the information processing apparatus is used, a work state at a power-off time can be independently preserved and reproduced for each user.

    摘要: A navigation apparatus for a vehicle displays, based on map information, a map image for vicinity of a present position of the vehicle and a guidance route in superimposition in a display device. An end point relative to a moving arrow is defined as being a predetermined first distance ahead of the present position along the route; a start point is defined as being a predetermined second distance smaller than the first distance ahead of the present position along the route. The navigation apparatus is further configured to superimpose, on the displayed route, the moving arrow which includes an arrowhead and a line between the arrowhead and the present position, such that the arrowhead moves from the start point to the end point along the route when a distance to a nearest guidance point is smaller than a predetermined distance.

The method of evaluating the adhesion strength of a thin film includes: a step of placing an ultrasonic vibration needle in contact with one of an edge portion in a planar direction of a thin film formed on a substrate and a periphery of the edge portion, and applying ultrasonic vibration; a step of detecting occurrences of detachment at the edge portion of the thin film after application of the ultrasonic vibration; and a step of evaluating the adhesion strength of the thin film on the substrate according to the occurrences of detachment.

    摘要: A network communication system is provided whereby communication stations can obtain priority for data transmission to communicate directly with each other in a contention-free mode communication period independently of a polling operation of the control station. The control station emits a series of beacons at equal intervals to initiate contention-free mode communication at the completion of a predetermined number of beacons. During the maximum contention-free mode communication period a contention-free communication operation is initiated, for allowing contention-free mode transmission, by a polling operation by the control station. A series of time-slots is imaginarily provided at equal intervals from the start of the contention-free period throughout the maximum contention-free period. A communication station conducts a call-connection procedure in order to obtain a priority for data transmission in a given set of time-slots.
