    摘要: The taper of narrow faces of a plate-type mold is controlled for the production of steel castings in slab form, wherein the plates of the mold are cooled by a liquid coolant and wherein the narrow faces can be adjusted between wide faces of the mold. Initially, the temperature of the coolant is measured at a coolant outlet of each plate of the mold. A cooling surface-related specific temperature value is then formed from each measured temperature. The specific temperature values of opposite plates are compared. The specific temperature values of each plate are compared with the specific temperature values of the adjoining plates. When a difference between the specific temperature values occurs, an adjustment value having a magnitude of the difference in values is applied to a drive of the narrow face which provides the lower temperature value, such that the taper of the narrow face is increased.

    摘要: A direct-current arc furnace for producing steel has a smelting vessel with electrodes, tapping openings for the molten mass and slag, and a device for a direct removal of exhaust gases. The smelting vessel is extended upwardly by a central shaft for introducing melt-down material into the vessel. The extension of the central shaft forms a melt-down material column. A shaft suction device is provided as an extension of the shaft for removal of the exhaust gases during the smelting process. Adjacent to the shaft openings are provided in the upper part of the smelting vessel for receiving a vessel suction device for dust and/or gases resulting during the charging process of the melt-down material. The shaft suction device and the vessel suction device are connected to a common device and switching elements are provided for actuating only one suction device and/or adjusting a combination of the exhaust gas flows dependent on the charging and smelting process.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for producing metal slabs in which especially a metal strip of steel is conducted through a bottom entry device of a vessel which is filled with molten metal, particularly steel, and, after the molten metal has crystallized onto the metal slab, the coated metal slab, particularly the coated metal strip, is pulled off above the vessel, wherein the crystallization carrier is conducted though the bottom entry device of the vessel which provides a clear opening width between the core strip and the entry device. Controlled cooling is carried out in the bottom area of the vessel containing the molten metal. The temperature of the molten metal at the nozzle exit of the bottom entry device is adjusted to be greater than the liquidus temperature of the molten metal. A meniscus in the pure melt phase is formed at the nozzle exit at the bottom entry device. A distance exists between the meniscus of the molten metal at the nozzle exit and the begin of the solidification. The heat removal in the area of the bottom entry device is controlled in dependence on the strip speed, bath temperature and gap width in such a way that the meniscus is formed freely and stationary at the nozzle exit.
