Abstract:
An apparatus is disclosed for checking the geometric characteristics of mechanical objects having rotational symmetry, such as shafts or bushings. A longitudinal support element defines a longitudinal axis and first reference surfaces, at least one modular coupling element is removably coupled to, and is adjustable longitudinally along, the longitudinal support element and provides second reference surfaces which cooperate with the first reference surfaces to align a linear guide portion transversely of the longitudinal axis. A fastener secures the modular coupling element, which removably supports a gauging device, to the longitudinal support element and a locking/unlocking device cooperates with the gauging device and guide portion for locking the gauging device to the modular coupling element.
Abstract:
The geometrical features of a part (6) having center seats are electronically checked by processing signals of gauging heads (14-17) that relate to linear dimensions of the part together with signals of other gauging heads (30, 31) adapted to define a reference geometrical axis. In order to obtain checkings of high accuracy, the reference geometrical axis is defined by means of two gauging heads (30, 31), each of which has a feeler (67, 72) movable along the three directions that is adapted to cooperate with a respective center seat.
Abstract:
A snap gauge comprising support means; a substantially U-shaped integral member defining two movable arms carrying feelers for contacting a workpiece to be measured; transducer means coupled to the movable arms; and a Vee reference device for cooperating with a cylindrical surface of the workpiece. A rotatable pin couples the Vee reference device to the support means and permits adjustment of the position of the Vee reference device along a longitudinal direction. The gauge further comprises protective devices including a U-shaped element arranged internally with respect to the integral member, two protective elements coupled to radially bent ends of the U-shaped element, and two protective half-shells coupled to the support means.
Abstract:
A gauging head for checking linear dimensions of mechanical parts comprising a substantially cylindrical casing, a stem partially arranged for sliding movement within the casing, a feeler coupled to an end of the stem external with respect to the casing for touching the part, a transducer for providing a measurement signal and a cable for connecting the transducer to an external electric unit. An additional element can be removably and adjustably coupled to the casing for limiting the pre-stroke of the stem and another additional element can be removably coupled to the casing for defining the direction of exit of the cable from the gauging head.
Abstract:
A gauging head, for checking linear dimensions of workpieces, comprises a casing; two movable arms, pivotable about pins fixed to the casing, and carrying feelers for contacting the workpiece to be checked; two position transducers operatively coupled to the movable arms; a second pair of arms pivotable about the pins; and zero-setting devices. The zero-setting devices include two members coupled to a shaft rotatable by a control lever. In a first position of the control lever the members are locked and the gauging head is in gauging condition. In a second position of the control lever the members are unlocked and can translate along the shaft permitting to carry out the zero-setting operation of the head because the two movable arms and the second pair of arms engage the members in such a way that the arms can rotate about the pins while maintaining a determined setting of the transducers.
Abstract:
Gauging head and apparatus for linear dimension checking of mechanical pieces comprising an integral element that defines an arm carrying a feeler, a reference portion, and a fulcrum that enables rotations of the arm with respect to the reference portion, and a differential transformer position transducer with a cylindrical shaped casing, carrying windings, fixed to the reference portion, and a ferromagnetic core movable together with the arm. The integral element is locked in an adjustable way to a support by means of the cylindrical casing. The integral fulcrum is achieved by work hardening the material and subsequently grinding it.
Abstract:
A linear gauging head, or cartridge head, comprises a casing, a spindle movable with respect to the casing along a longitudinal axis, a feeler coupled to a first end of the spindle and a differential position transducer with windings, fixed with respect to casing, and a core coupled to a second end of spindle. The spindle is guided by recirculating ball bushings with rolling elements that cooperate with the spindle and thus allow its displacement with respect to the casing.
Abstract:
An apparatus for checking linear dimensions and other features of workpieces (42) comprises a support structure (2) carrying reference and support devices (40) adapted for supporting the workpiece to be checked (42). A linear support frame (210) carrying measuring heads (230) is connected to the support structure (2) through a coupling device (88) directly coupled to the support frame (210), substantially in a single limited zone for preventing deformations of the support frame (210).
Abstract:
Gauge for checking linear dimensions of mechanical pieces comprising a support, two arms movable with respect to the support, two feelers respectively fixed to the arms for contacting the piece to be checked and a position transducer having two mutually movable elements respectively fixed to the movable arms. At least one of the two elements of the transducer is fixed to the relevant movable arm by screw, nut-screw coupling and between the screw and the nut-screw there is arranged a thread insert, having at least one polygonal coil, which permits adjustment of the mutual position of the elements of the transducer, while assuring a stable adjustment.
