    Abstract: Certain examples described herein relate to the use of three-dimensional threshold matrices in the production of three-dimensional objects. In one case, data values for a three-dimensional matrix for use in halftoning are assigned based on a structural volume coverage representation. In certain described cases, the structural volume coverage representation defines a probabilistic distribution of at least two different structures available for the production of the three-dimensional object. A convex combination of the at least two different structures is determined, based on data values of the structure volume coverage representation. A data value may be assigned to the three-dimensional matrix based on the convex combination determined. The resultant three-dimensional matrix is used in a halftoning operation to control a structure distribution in the three-dimensional object.

    Abstract: A method for setting properties of a three-dimensional object in an additive manufacturing process, e.g. 3D-Printing, in which data representing a three-dimensional object to be printed is obtained. The data comprises sub-volumes representing the three-dimensional object. The position of the sub-volumes in the three-dimensional object is identifyied by a positional pomponent, i.e. a location depth and an orientation angle. A characteristic for the three-dimensional object to be printed is identified or set by the user. The property data is set for individual sub-volumes to be used in printing the three-dimensional object based on the identified characteristic and positional component. The property data comprises material property data, structural property data and printing property data.

    Abstract: Examples of a method and a system for configuring an imaging system are described. These examples involve obtaining a random sample of area coverage representations and grouping these by an estimated color, such as a colorimetric value. In each group a selected area coverage representation is determined with respect to one or more imaging attributes. A color gamut based on the random sample and the selected area coverage representations are used to generate a color mapping from an input color space to an area coverage representation space for use by the imaging system.

    Abstract: A system in accordance with an example is to assign a display color to a pixel to be displayed, to achieve an apparent desired color at a local neighborhood node of pixels having an apparent color bit depth greater than an addressable color palette for the display color that the pixel is capable of producing. The display color is assigned to the pixel based on a convex combination of colors of the local neighborhood node of pixels, to provide the desired color for the node based on local optical averaging.
