摘要： A document file is configured to restrict, without a costly special-purpose terminal or the like, use of document data contained therein, if the document data is taken out of a predetermined location. A document file contains (i) electronic document data, (ii) usage location information indicating one or more usage locations in which use of the electronic document data is less restricted, and (ii) a data management program that causes, when a user requests use of the electronic document data, a computer to request for user location information indicating the current location of the user. Under control of the data management program, use of the electronic document data is permitted within a first usage pattern, if the user location is included in the usage locations. If not, use of the electronic document data is prohibited or permitted within a second usage pattern which is more restricted than the first usage pattern.

The printed material includes an image of an original, and an additional image not recognized or hard to be recognized with naked eyes. The additional image is to be visualized when an image is formed based on the image data with an image forming apparatus. Further, the printed material includes and a code which represents information. When the code is detected in the image data, a stamp image is synthesized with the image data based on the detected code. Then, the image data synthesized with the stamp image is provided. For example, an image is printed based on the image data.

The information processing terminal includes a display controller that causes an icon corresponding to a data file to be stored in a prescribed storage destination displayed on a display device, an input unit that receives the selection of said icon by the user and an instruction to incorporate as a data file corresponding to the selected icon an image file formed by said image forming apparatus, and a transmission unit that, in accordance with the instruction received by said input unit to incorporate said image file, sends to said image forming apparatus information that includes at least the identification information by which to identify the storage destination for said image file, the file name for the data file corresponding to the selected icon and the storage position information that indicates the storage position on said storage destination in which said data file is to be stored. The image forming apparatus includes a registration unit that registers settings information that includes at least the identification information by which to identify the storage destination for said image file, the storage position information that indicates the storage position in said storage destination, and the file name for said image file, and a display controller that causes a selection key for said settings information registered by said registration unit on a display device, wherein the display controller creates a new selection key for said settings information to be displayed on said display device when the new settings information is registered by said registration unit, based on said information sent from said information processing terminal.

A first processing is preset for the apparatus as a common processing to respond to the abnormal condition. Either the first processing or the second processing is selected according to priorities assigned thereto. The selected processing is performed in response to occurrence of the abnormal condition when the abnormal condition occurs. The processing to handle the abnormal condition can flexibly be selected from among a plurality of processings according to the environment in which the printer system is placed.
