摘要: A makeup mirror apparatus comprises a case body, a case lid, and a rotary shaft rotatably connecting the case body and the case lid. The case body is provided with a cosmetic-material containing area, a brush containing area, and operation buttons. The case lid is provided with a mirror unit, a camera portion, and a memory slot. The mirror unit is constituted such that an LCD panel is stacked on a half mirror. By manipulating the operation button, a sample image is read from a memory card loaded in the memory slot. The read sample image is displayed on the LCD panel and is overlapped with a user's face reflected in the half mirror. Makeup is performed by tracing the sample image.

摘要: The present invention provides an image-taking apparatus which includes: a first light-emitting section having a xenon tube and a main capacitor; and a second light-emitting section having an LED. When an image is to be taken with an auxiliary light emission immediately after power-on and immediately after previous image taking with a previous auxiliary light emission, recharge of the main capacitor is not completed yet. In such a case, the image-taking apparatus selects the second light-emitting section to emit auxiliary light from the LED.

摘要: A facsimile communication system is provided which is capable of sending out picture data from a gateway device on a receiver side to a facsimile device on the receiver side even in the development of delays in communications caused by fluctuations in a communication network and of avoiding a forced breakdown of the facsimile communication occurring based on a judgement by the facsimile communication system that a communication failure has occurred due to the delays in communications. In the facsimile communication system, the gateway device on the receiver side, after receiving a digital instruction (DCS) signal from the gateway device on a sender side, without waiting for the receipt of a receiving preparation confirmation (CFR) signal to be fed from a facsimile device on the receiver side, returns, for itself, the CFR signal to the gateway device on the sender side and then starts to receive picture data from the gateway device on the receiver side. The gateway device on the receiver side starts to send the picture data to the facsimile device on the receiver side when accumulated amounts of received picture data exceeds amounts of data required to prevent communication failures.

摘要: An image taking apparatus of the present invention includes: a shooting lens which comprises a plurality of lens groups and which has a variable focal length and adjusts a focus; and a lens barrel which accommodates the shooting lens and which can advance and retract. The lens barrel comprises a lens advancing/retracting mechanism which retracts at least one of the lens groups from a shooting optical axis when the lens barrel is retracted, and which advances the lens group retracted when the lens barrel is retracted to the shooting optical axis when the lens barrel advances. The shooting lens forms a fixed focus shooting optical system by the remaining lens group among the plurality of lens groups excluding the lens group which is retracted from the shooting optical axis.

摘要: A facsimile communication system includes a calling and a called facsimile machine connected via a communication network. Each of the facsimile machines has a timer value representing a maximum allowable response time for a response signal relative to a signal transmitted to the counterpart facsimile machine. Using the timer value, each of the facsimile machines monitors whether the response signal is received from the counterpart facsimile machine within the timer value. If the response signal is not received within the timer value, retransmission of the transmitted signal is required. The called facsimile machine transmits all timer value change information for increasing the timer value to the calling facsimile machine. The calling facsimile machine selects the optimum timer value change information within the range of the timer value change information received from the called facsimile machine, and transmits the selected timer value change information to the called facsimile machine. The calling and called facsimile machines increase their timer values using the selected timer value change information. Accordingly, even if a communication delay is caused in the communication network, the retransmission of the transmitted signal can be avoided.
