摘要： A recording apparatus having a recording head provided with plural ink discharging outlets for discharging ink includes a detector for detecting temperature distribution in the recording head relating to recording operation of the recording head; a calculator for processing temperature data; and a controller responsive to an output of the calculator. 摘要： An ink jet recording apparatus has a recording head provided with at least one discharge opening from which ink is discharged, a recovery execution device for clearing a predetermined amount of ink from the discharge opening to prevent any discharge failure of the recording head, and a waste ink receiving device for receiving the waste ink cleared from the discharge opening. The apparatus further has a recovery control section which includes a counter for counting the cumulative number of times that ink has been cleared by the recovery execution device, a memory for storing the cumulative number of times that the recovery operation has been counted by the counter, a comparator for comparing, before execution of the next ink clearing recovery operation, the stored cumulative number of times the recovery operation has been performed with a predetermined upper limit data indicative of the upper limit on the number of times the ink clearing operation can be performed chosen with respect to the capacity of the waste ink receiving device, and a controller for producing, when the comparison shows that the cumulative number of times the ink clearing operation has been performed exceeds the upper limit data, a changing signal for informing a user that the waste ink receiving device needs to be changed.

摘要： This invention relates to an ink jet recording apparatus with a support member for supporting an ink jet recording head for effecting recording by ink discharge onto a recording material, comprising: recording material transport means for transporting the recording material from a feeding position through a recording position to a discharge position; and recovery means for maintaining and restoring the ink discharge state of said ink jet recording head. The driving source for driving the recording material transport means or support member is also used for driving the recovery means, and, when the power supply to the apparatus is turned on, the initial operations of at least the recording material transport means and the recovery means are conducted utilizing a single sensor.

摘要： An ink jet recording apparatus for performing recording by ejecting ink to a recording medium, has a recording head and head driving unit. To effect ejection recovery, the head driving unit drives selected ejection energy generating elements in the recording head so that ink is ejected from orifices which correspond to the selected ejection energy elements. The selected orifices include at least one orifice adjacent to a particular orifice at which ink ejection recovery is performed, but exclude the particular orifice in an arrangement of the plurality of orifices. This ejection recovery technique efficiently removes bubbles from the particular orifice.
